Happy Wednesday smile.gif

Its the last day of school here for summer. The last day for the boy in his current school. Mrs Web asked him this morning if he was a little sad to be leaving his old school and he said "Nah, I'm getting kind of tired of that school, anyway."

How many e-mails do you still have to read Pambo?

Still about half huh? When you read that many, where do you start? The bottom or the top? Or do you first scan through them to see what crap you can get rid of, like company announcements, mindless meetings?

First thing I got rid of was all the meeting makers of the meetings I missed.  Next, any company-wide announcements that no longer applied.  Then I checked for anything to do with one project that keeps my inbox full...that I have a tiny part in.  Then I started with the old stuff.  Meanwhile, emails keep pouring in so I have to check to see if I'm missing anything new.  Man.  It's a serious task.  blankstare

I finally made it into the office. hmm.gif What a shame... beautiful day outside. 64* and sunny... gonna be close to 80* again today. Nothing going on here... most of the crew decided to work from home today.

But you are going to do that tomorrow, right? Will it still be nice? Working from the backyard sounds like fun.

Yeah... tomorrow is my WFH day. It is supposed to be really nice again, so likely I will wander to the patio office. smile.gif

Oh dang... I almost for got to share:

News from the deepest, dankest hole in the US Federal Prison System, Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary located in scenic Leavenworth, Kansas... housing the baddest of the bad since 1897, including Carl Panzram (serial killer), Tom Pendergast (mob boss of KC), "Bugs" Moran (mob boss), George "Machine Gun" Kelly, Rober "Bird Man Of Alcatraz" Stroud, and Fritz Joubert Desquenes (Nazi)... today released Michael Vick.

weirdface.gif WTF?!? They are thinking of putting that evil bastage Abu Zubaydah there if they close Gitmo!!! Kinda taking the reputation of that place down a peg by putting Vick there, aren't they? Granted, he is a jerk... but I don't think he quite rates Leavenworth. hmm.gif

I want to see if Goodall reinstates Vick. And if he does, who will actually think about picking him up.

Goodall will reinstate him. There are lots of teams looking for quarterbacks, so somebody will pick him up. For sure it won't be Atlanta, but somebody will just to sell a few more tickets.

I am sure he will still be a decent quarterback. He probably just needs to get into football shape.

He will probably perform fine. I'm sure he spent lots of time working out. Not a lot else he would have had to spend his time on these last several months. hmm.gif He will probably never be a "big money" player again or be anybody's #1 QB, but he'll be around a while. I guess he's only about 29... he has a few good years left.

I suspect he could be someone's #1 if they needed it.

I guess time will tell. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for offers to roll in. I'm really glad the Chiefs already picked up a good QB.

Read with some amusement... terms of the 2 months of house arrest for him include going to parole meetings, church, various court appointments for his bankruptcy, AND a $10 per hour construction job that he will be allowed to have. How bad does that bite? Going from being the highest paid NFL player to a not even union wage construction job! Granted, he is still making money off his NFL contract, but still... way to humble a guy.

I also heard this morning that he asked to do volunteer work with the Humane Society. I think it was the Humane Society anyway.

One team that probably shouldn't pick him up, the Cleveland Browns. I don't think he'd be a good fit with the dog pound. no.gif

I'm really torn on Vick. Yeah, I know he served his time. I'm all for second chances usually. But this guys actions just bug the hell out of me. They seem to go waaaaaaaaaay beyond just bad judgement.

Personally I'd rather see him have to get his second chance in the private sector making a regular man's wage. Rewarding him with even a league minimum salary just seems too good to me.

Goodall probably will reinstate him, but I wouldn't blame him one bit if he didn't. Playing in the NFL isn't a right, it's a privilege, that's a privilege I'd say Goodall has every right to take away from Vick in the name of protecting the sports image.

As long as the Pack don't sign him though, I guess I don't care.

I heard that too. They want him to show contrition for how he and his people treated the dogs. Personally, I don't think he should be allowed to even own a fish tank, but that's just me.

He's proven he's no good with animals. He doesn't even warrant a hermit crab, man.
