So I've got the Nabaztag up and working now.  It's a wifi rabbit.

It can do lots of little things.  I can even make it play FFR!  (I haven't figured out how to make FFR my morning alarm clock yet on it though.)

One thing it can do is receive messages.  So if you send me a message, it'll speak the message to me.  If I'm not there, it'll replay the messages when I press the button between it's ears.  (Oh, and its ears move too!)

To send me a message, first you have to create a basic account at http://my.violet.net/. 
Then after you log in, click on Send Message.
In the search field enter "osiris922" and click Search.
The name "Shaowen  Bardzell" will come up (that's the instructor that's overseeing the study).
Type the message (or record a message, or upload a song, there's other stuff to do too).
Click Send Message.

So it doesn't bug Brian to death, I've asked it not to send messages until after 5.  So if you send me a message now, I'll get it when I get home.

I actually have 2 rabbits. I set Osiris up upstairs. I was listening to FFR via her this morning (though the stream comes through pretty choppy, I wonder if she has settings to fix that). She'll also serve as an alarm clock, give me the weather, and tell me the CNN top headlines. If she dispensed coffee, she'd be the perfect morning companion.

The second rabbit is PinkBaxter. He's downstairs. He's probably the better one to send messages to. When you search for "pinkbaxter" you'll probably get the name "Jeffrey Bardzell."

PinkBaxter also gives me the weather, but he also tells me the time at the top of every hour, reminds me to take tai chi breaks (really, that's a preset application!), and says random things.

hey Mz, if it is possible, the next time you are listening to either jazz or underground, could you video the rabbit broadcasting the show, if only even for 10 seconds, and send to me? that would be cool to have. If you can.smile

I don't have a video recorder, just my digital camera, and it doesn't record sound.  It has lights that flash and the ears move, so you'd still be able to tell that it was doing something.
