Hi JD!! biggrin It was a beautiful day in my neighborhood so I made the most of it and stayed away from my computer until now.  Once again though, as the sun is setting, the air is chilling down.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is how the rest of the summer is going to be this year.

Man, I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

I expected it to start Thursday night. It did in a way, but not too bad. But then since the rehearsal on Friday, we've been going nonstop.

After the rehearsal dinner, we went out to the bar that we always go out to, and the DJ for the wedding was one of the DJs there that night. We danced a lot and stayed out late.

Then Saturday morning my plan was to wake up early so I could get my food from the market before we went to help decorate. We were supposed to meet at 9 to start decorating. Somehow we missed the alarm and woke up at 9! So we skipped the market and rushed to the clubhouse.

When we got there, the maid of honor who was organizing everything, wasn't there yet because she had stayed up until 6 preparing. So we got started an hour late. In addition, most of the people who said they were helping didn't show up.

We didn't get everything done until 3. The wedding was at 4:30, but we were the ushers. We live 20 minutes away, one way. And I still hadn't taken a shower. So we rushed home, got ready in record time, and got there at 4:15.

The wedding was beautiful. The reception was so much fun. The DJ played lots of funk, and we danced a ton. I got blisters on the bottom of my feet.

I also took one bite, ONE BITE, of wedding cake. When we got home and were undressing, I found hives on my legs. I've felt like crap all day today, but I think I'm finally getting over it.

Today we also went out to brunch with a lot of the out-of-towners that came in for the wedding. Brian went back to the clubhouse to help clean up, but I came home and took a nap.

Sounds like you had fun this weekend, MZ!  Busy, but fun!  Sorry the cake caused hives after only one bite. Does all cake bother you if you eat some?

Holy cow, just thinking about all that food you ate over the weekend caused me to gain 5 pounds.  laughing.gif

Usually I' m OK with one bite of something. But the cake might have been overdoing it. There's definitely eggs in the cake, who knows how many, and corn starch in the frosting, and there was probably egg whites in the frosting too. It's eggs that breaks me out more than corn does. So I think it was just too much. But I still had fun.

Good evening all! I'm seriously worn out today! Probably doesn't help that I went out to watch the UFC fights with some friends last night and didn't get home til 3AM. It was fun though. Spent most of yesterday running around to Miah's tee ball game then to Costco ,the auto parts store and washing the truck.

Today I actually woke up around 8:30 but laid in bed watching TV til almost noon. Finally drug it out of bed to get on with doing laundry, cleaning the filters for the air conditioner (which I think I'm finally going to turn on), and grilling a bunch of stuff for dinner and lunches.

At least I'm in the home stretch now... just have to put away a mountain of laundry while I groove to the shows. smile.gif

Sounds like everyone had a fun weekend.

I on the other hand spent my weekend sleeping. This night shift stuff sucks. I was gonna lay down for just an hour on Friday and slept almost 7, then I was having trouble sleeping Friday night so I was tired and slept most of Saturday.

Last night I was wide away from 2 AM - 7 AM then I slept most of today away, now I'm getting ready for work.

I really need to find something with normal hours. I'm not 22 anymore. I don't know how Dylan does it. He seems to prefer night shifts even now that he's in his sixties. (oops, I meant forties wink.gif)

Think I'm gonna wait until tomorrow morning to turn on the air. Hopefully it will work correctly. My extended warranty on the A/C system expired last year. hmm.gif

JD, as always, thanks for the great shows tonight!!  Enjoyed the music immensely!! biggrin

Hope all of you enjoy the rest of your evening!  I'm gonna go do some reading for a while tonight.  I get to stay up as late as I want now that I don't have to be at work in the mornings.  (Sorry, didn't mean to rub it in!!) biggrin
