RE: Do You Play?

Trish, I would love to hear you sing.  I like the sultry sounds of Stevie Nicks, Kim Carnes, Tina Turner,  Taylor Dayne.  Put me on the keyboards.  I actually took piano lessons for 14 years and finally quit when my teacher kept me in the classics.  I'll join the Theater group too.  I was actually cast, many years ago in the tour group Young America.  I quit that when I kept getting called a f*g.  My ego was not strong enough to rebuff the social attacks as most in the trouppe were.  I sing back-up too.  My voice coach worked with me where I could sing some Bass, Barritone and 2nd Tenor.  I didn't like her much either becasue she kept me singing opera.  Will admit though, have not done it for years.

Add me to the theatre troup too, on stage or behind it, I did a lot of that in high school.  I miss it.

I can see it now,  "Freeze Frame Theatre presents:"

I don't know how good my voice will sound to other people.  My mom loves it and cries when I sing.  I'm praying they aren't tears of pain.  She assures me they're not, but you never know with mom's.  I will have to dig out the old tape recorder, dust it off and make a tape.  I had an opportunity to sing with a band a few years ago, but it was too far away from where we live and my husband was not on board with that.  I wish I would have...it would have been a dream come true.

Mz,

It's funny you mention "Freeze-Frame Theater Presents..." because J.D. & I have been knocking around an idea for a weekly soap opera for the station.

NOT a full blown soap opera of course, but we're working on a mini-drama that would have one five minute episode per week that we would air throughout the week.

The theme is behind the scenes here at Freeze-Frame.  Kind of like SCTV for radio.  And of course, the subject matter is purely fictional (mostly)

Too bad none of you are in the area, you could do some guest voices when we get this thing running.

Of course, our alterior motive is to hook the CASUAL listeners into coming back each week to catch a new episode.  For you regulars it will just be a five minute annoyance taking the place of a request!

thats right! I remember kicking this around! Fun to do, fun to air, fun to listen to! Like an old fashioned radio play, bought to you by the makers of Ovaltene and BF Goodrich tires!!! LOL

I think that is a great idea.  I would fly back to MKE.  Just let me know if and when the golf courses are open.

A mini-drama would rock!  I think that's a great idea!  But now we'll have to fill each other in when we miss an episode...

Blonde moment!  WFTR, I didn't realize you were from Illinois!  I live in Illinois (between commutes).  I'm closer to St. Louis, though.  I know where Schaumberg is, but then probably a lot of people do.  I used to deal with the Baker's Square's up in that area.  Schaumberg, Batavia, Bourbonnaise (probably didn't spell that right), etc.  Question of the day - do you pronounce it like Illinoy or Illnoiz?

When we lived in Arkansas and would come up to visit my grandparents, people would ask us when we got back how it was in Illnoizzzz.  Our standard reply was "There's only noise in Illinoy when we're there!"  It's amazing how few people got it.

I'm proud to be a Blues fan!  I love my boys in blue.  All I can say about the Blackhawks is........at least they're are the cheatin' bas%^&d L.A. Kings.  Boy, I really don't like them.  I was eight months pregnant with my daughter watching a game and my son came out and was shocked at the things I was yelling at the television.  Forgot he could hear me.  Had to tone it down.  Oh, and the Sharks.  Don't like the Sharks, either.  Or Detroit.  O.K.  I could go on forever.  But at least the Blackhawks are below all those teams on my dislike list.

By the way, I pronounce it Illinoy.
