Bernie Madoff Sentencing

I haven't acually seen where his sentencing hearing is over, but I do have to laugh at something he said:[I] will live with this pain, this torment, for the rest of my life.

Unless this dude is planning to be repeatedly buggered every day for the rest of his life, I don't really think he should be making that kind of statement. He didn't accidentally bilk thousands of people out of billions of dollars... it was quite intentional. He wasn't too ashamed to live a very lavish lifestyle on those ill-gotten gains. I'm thinking he should STFU!

Hey... they did hit him with the full 150 years. Too bad he won't have to serve all of it.

$1 says he doesn't even serve 15 years of it. How old is he, like 72?

Something like that. His lawyer was trying to get him a 12 year sentence so that he might have the possibility of getting out before he dies.

Yeah, I don't think so. He has caused way too much pain and suffering. I think he got off easy. The money he took is gone and he gets to spend his days with an orange jumpsuit and three square meals.

Which is probably better than what some of his victims have for the rest of their lives. Its really too bad that he can't be forced to have to individually face the people who's lives he ruined. It just kills me to hear this guy talk about having to live with the pain and torment, and how he got himself into a hole he couldn't get out of. YES, he could have... he didn't have to dig the hole in the first place. If you don't dig the hole around yourself, then you don't have a hole to stand in.

Exactly what I was thinking, Mema. I'd rather see him have to try to live the rest of his life without any money.

See... that's why I think he should never get out. Its not like they are gonna shove his butt in Sing-Sing or Leavenworth. He's going to a country club. What SHOULD happen is he should be put into a real prison and a work program... like maybe he should have to have some sort of minimum wage job and have to support his wife on that while he lives all of his free time trying to not be some gang member's "little bunny".
