American Hi-Fi's new CD - music review

Hey, guys, just wanted to let you know I got the new American Hi-Fi CD, Hearts On Parade, and it is great.  It has "Geeks Get The Girls" on there and I can't honestly say there isn't a song on there that I don't like.  FFR turned me on to AHF and I went out and bought their last CD, Art Of Losing.  It is really good.  It's different from their newest one.  Art of Losing is more punkish type of music with a lot of hard beats to it (which I love to dance to while I'm folding laundry, how sad am I?) and Hearts On Parade has more of a funky late 70's, 80's feel to it.

Has anyone else bought a CD recently that you're jazzed about?

I woke up at 1 a.m. this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so I thought I would clean house.  I got about 3 hours of sleep, so I'm good for the day.  Just getting ready to head down to the basement and flip the breaker back on for the water heater.  The darn water heater keeps tripping the breaker because an element burned out Sunday night (it was a COLD shower Monday morning, Yikes!).  We had hot water for my husband and son last night when they took their shower, but now I have none and I know that's why.  Figures.  It's gonna be a GREAT Tuesday.  Hope you're having a good day.  It's about 10:30 am there right now, isn't it?

O.K.  You guys are one time zone over from Germany.  Went down to the basement.  Can't find the tripped breaker.  No hot water today.  Well, at least one things for sure - the day has got to get better (I hope)!  Have a good one, Ultimo!

Trish,

That's really cool that we helped turn you into an American Hi-Fi song.

I remember as soon as we got that single in the first thought in my head was "Trish is really gonna like this" because it reminded me of "1985" even though it was totally different.

I picked up their first CD too and I really liked it.  Based on your review though I think I'll be getting the new one asap, it sounds like one I'd like even more than the first!

I think you have the one that was their very first "Flavor of the Weak".  The next one "Art of Losing" is really, really good.  I wish I had a way to send you a preview of some of the songs on Hearts On Parade.  They are kind of funky.  There's clapping and disco beats and things like hat.  But I like funky.  That's why I quit listening to country for the most part.  It all sounds the same.  There is no variety.  I love music, but I can't listen to one endless song with different singer, ya know?

Oh, by the way, the day did get worse.  I should have never said that.  That always opens up the door for problems.  I was late for work because I got stuck on the bridge.  We have a lift span bridge where I live and if a barge comes, they have right of way and you have to wait for them to pass and then the bridge lowers and you can go on.  We live on a peninsula, so we're socked in by two rivers and the only way out is the bridge or to go way up north and go across the land or go way down south and take a ferry.  ANYWAY, 35 minutes later, I got across the bridge.

I am now officially saying that the day is what it is and that it's not going to get better.  There!  Jinx over!
