DC Area music to be featured on Jazz 101

Tune in Sunday 5/15 at 8 pm for another new edition of Jazz 101. This Sunday will feature music that I've received from jazz performers in the Virginia/ Washington DC area. I'll debut Daria & Angel & Aces from their cd Mood Swings on their show, as well as songs from the Bruce Middle group as well.

As always I invite you to crack open a bottle of wine, bust out that book that you've been meaning to read or write, and tune into Jazz 101 for a coooool evening!

JD, Its always kinda neat to hear music by people just wanting some exposure for their efforts.  Its like discovering an island you know very few people have been to.  When we find someone like that and we really like them, they feel like our personal discovery.

Just like the Beatles at the Cavern Club...those people had a great opportunity to call the Beatles their own for awhile.  How cool is that!

So, I will break out that book I have been meaning to color and look forward to making a "discovery" each week.  Keep up the good work.

PS....Have a safe fun time in The Big Easy

Thanks Dylan-

It's really fun playing "up and comers" on the show- much of what's been sent to me is really really good. I've got some links set up on the Jazz 101 page for some of the artists. And I know its such a kick for them to get air time. A few of these say they mention the station and show at their gigs, so its a cool way to network on each end.

In fact, Milwaukee Jazz guitarist Paul Silbergleit, whom I've featured on the show for awhile now, is growing into a national act- he can be heard on the "big" jazz broadcast stations. I don't want to say that I discovered him, but I did, and he owes all his success to me!

Glad you'll be tuning in! I hope you have the big 64 crayon box!
