OK, cannot resit. I am a star wars fan, but not so fanatical that I saw the midnight showing. I can wait for Friday. Am I the only one, or did anyone actually see the midnight showing?
I was a nut for Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, but for some reason I just lost interest.
I don't even have interest in ever seeing those three movies again, and I used to love them.
I've noticed as I've gotten older I have a very hard time getting into Sci-Fi for some reason.
When the first 3 came out on DVD in a box set I was VERY close to buying them, just to see if maybe viewing them again would bring back the fond memories, but with the high price tag I resisted.
I have the first trilogy box set, Its fantastic, I never really watched the movies first time round so its only since the new films came out that I have got into the older films too.
I think we're in the same camp CP. I am proudly an old sci-fi geek, but age and wisdom have taught me that trying to be the first to see movies just costs you time, comfort, and sleep. It will be the same movie on the weekend, or next weekend. I will go see it to round things out. I've been dissapointed with this run of three. but you got to see it through. I have yet to see Hitchhickers...., I want to get that one in too.
I'd like to see it too, but I'm probably going to wait until next weekend after the crowds have died down a bit. I'm all for being a scifi nut, but I think the Star Wars crowd goes a little overboard. I did see the very first showing of Hitchhikers, and I saw the very first showing of Fellowship of the Ring, and both midnight showings of the two other Lord of the Rings movies.
I also read graphic novels. I fully admit to being a geek.
I don't like the older ones. they cheese me out so bad. i like the newer ones a lot though. and ya, waiting in line for 4 months?? no thanks. i mean, do you get to see a different movie if you wait in line forever? i can go in a week and see the same movie without waiting right?
Oh, that's it man! If you get too close, I'm scooping up your furry backside, duct-taping you to a replica of Capt. Kirk's chair, and FORCE-feeding you a total geek overload. You'll be in the chess club before you know it! Ever seen all of the Dr. Who "Key to Time" episodes?
