Wednesday because I said so!

Hey, how about that!  I'm the first to start the daily thread!

Not that it's much of a challenge anymore now that hardly anyone ever stops in the ol' forum.

But, I'm finally settled into my new apartment so I hope to be around a lot more, maybe I can help jump start stuff.

Or, maybe I'll just lie down in the corner and take a nap smile.gif

I know Mema. You've been one of the few folks that show up everyday it looks like. nod.gif

Congrats on 18 years. Nowadays 18 years with one company is a major accomplishment. Here's to 18 more! beer.gif

You haven't been in here recently, have you?  Mema's company sold her off.

I did hear about her company changes. nod.gif

Even though I didn't stop in much I tried to check in once a day to read what was going on.

You guys just can't imagine how inconvenient it was staying with family the last few months. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it more than I could ever express, but the situations were not comfortable at all and kept me from being able to spend much time online.

Glad to be back in my own place and I'm hoping I can get back into more of a groove.

In fact, I got an email today that the broadcast software has an upgrade available.

I'm gonna download it this weekend and hope it fixes that microphone glitch that caused me to sound like I was underwater. If it does fix it I'm hoping to get on air a couple days a week again.

Before we shut this thing down I'd like to give it one last push to see if we can't return it to it's past glory.

I think time has passed FFR by, but yet I look at some other internet stations getting 200,000 listener hours or more a month and I wonder if maybe it's just been lack of effort on my part that's caused this thing to crash and burn.

How many listener hours does FFR get a month JR?

It's down to about 1,500.

In the good old days (about 3 years ago) we were getting over 20,000.

I got 38 more days with Sprint. no.gif  The next 18 will hopefully be with Ericsson. At least I get to walk in the door with my time bridged. nod.gif

Morning all.

We can be a little slow around here getting the morning thread started JR. Eventually we get around to it.

Congrats Mema. JR is right, longevity with one company doesn't happen much anymore. I kind of wish I could find that somewhere.

Some of us would like to listen but the man won't let us in. He is keeping me down. no.gif

It has been a pretty good run for me. I guess I can't fuss too much... my friend Janet hits 30 years at the end of the month. I haven't asked yet, but I bet she is kinda hacked about losing half her severance in a year.

Good morning.

One week from today, school starts.

I get a haircut later today! Whoop! I was past due on needing a cut when I called for an appointment only to find out my hair cutter chic (my niece) was headed out on vacation. She's back now and my hair didn't get any shorter. It will feel good to get it shortened back up again.

Good morning all!  Like JR, I've been stopping by every day as a "guest" just to keep up with everyone but thought I should actually log in today before I head out of town for another week.

I've got a little over 3 weeks left to decide if I'm going back to work on September 8th or not.  I really, really don't want to go back....I've had enough and am so burnt out that I know the slightest little thing is gonna cause me to snap, but if I could somehow manage to hang in there one more year I could have us completely debt-free (except for our mortgage) by the end of the school year.  My husband's advice is to work another year then quit and look for something else.  He's looking at the financial aspect only.  I'm wondering how the heck I'm gonna hang in there for another year, walk into work every morning knowing I absolutely don't want to be there, keep my mouth shut, and do my job.  I'm in a quandary and don't know what the best thing is to do.  If I quit, my husband's going to be beyond ticked off, but if I go back I'm going to be putting a lot of additional stress on myself that I don't think I'm going to be able to handle.  hmm

I think I too could use a haircut. But I have also been thinking about letting it grow long. I hate to think about the in between stage. I would look shaggy and have no control over my hair. Not that I haver much now, it just does whatever it feels like.

You aren't alone.

However, maybe you go back in September but start looking for something else then. That way you are still working on paying the bills, but you may not have to stay the entire year. Maybe half.

Have a nice week away.

Fuzzy, I don't know if I'll even be able to make it through the first day.  Since I've been off this summer, I've sent out a few resumes, haven't got a nibble at all, job market here is completely flat.  I've inquired at some temporary agencies, nothing going on with any of them.......could work a day here, maybe a day there, short-term employment is down to this instead of 3-6 months at one place, long-term assignments have dried up and just don't exist right now.  I know it's a bad time for me to be looking for something else, and I'm feeling a lot of pressure to keep my current job but I know I'm at my breaking point.  Financially, we can do without the money I make.......I keep telling my husband we're doing it right now, but without my income during the school year we won't be debt-free in another year, and being debt-free is what my husband wants......he's really pressuring me about it.

Sorry Ghost. I have had that feeling and it there isn't a good way to describe it. I am sure that my feelings aren't even close to yours. I have been trying to get out of here for sometime. I am sure I could find something in this area, but that is another thing that I am trying to get away from. A temp job scares me because I am my only source of income. I can't afford not to work. Well, until I win the powerball jackpot tonight that is.

I say we tell your husband to pick up a newspaper route or something. giggle.gif

Okay, maybe not. He might not find it amusing.

That sucks Ghost. Its a rough choice. I'd like to go with one of the things that Pambo and I tell each other often: You can do anything you HAVE to for a year. I know that is a tough order sometimes.

That is a tough choice. I don't envy you.

Tough call Ghost. I know you hated your job, and I also know Michigan has one of the worst unemployment rates in the country so your options are probably pretty limited. hmm.gif

I hope whatever way you go works out for you.

Don't get me started... they hired the town idiot to run our department. Loser. Incompetent. Lame. As a human being, I wish we could test. Birth control has positive outcomes.
