I'm not sure which bumper I love more

It's either the one that just played "The Ratt Bastard", the Fred Schneider one where he says you must be nuts to be listening to FFR, or the Ray Parker Jr. one where he asks who you're gonna call if you want great 80s music.

Thanks again LS.  They ALL rock!

I love hearing them going into the artist, too. Sounds really cool!

Those are good, but I'm partial to Jim Peterik singing the line from Vehicle myself.

I love Jill Solbule's (it is hers, isn't it) where she says, "And you can request anything, so why don't you request me?" It's so sweet!

I just realized that we have Jim Peterik doing that bumper, but we don;t even have 'Vehicle' by the Ides of March in our CD library!!  shocked.gif

Is there anyone out there who can fix this injustice!!

I like the way you think, Murs.  Jim Peterik gave me a CD with the song, but it's a re-recording.  I've been looking for the original- I've asked a few friends, but so far - no go.

Because of that bumper I looked him and the song up on Wikipedia and a couple music sites and learned some neat things about him and the song.  I also remember seeing a 'video' of the song I guess on MTV/VH1 way back - it was quite the scene!

Yay!!  Few things make me happier than spawning interest in an artist that I love.!

He is in my top favorite songwriters - I think he's extremely talented.  I buy everything he puts out.

I actually never realized he was a driving force behind/in Survivor.  I just knew from the first time I saw/heard 'Vehicle' that I loved the song!

Yes, he & Frankie Sullivan were the main songwriters of Survivor.  But even his solo stuff, Pride of Lions, stuff he's written with Joe Lynn Turner, ...  it's all great.

Lady Strange.  Did somebody popular cover this song?

I found a copy from my Russian connections, but I can't really tell if it's the original or not because the original pre-dates my time on this earth smile.gif

It has been covered by some other artists...  If your Russian is looking at some sort of "Hits of the 70's" or "Hits From Before Riggs was born" compilation, then you'd know it's the right one!

Well, it's a compilation in a language I don't recognize. I'd guess german. I'll play it and you can let me know if it's right.

Sounds like Blood, Sweat & Tears to me personally.

That sure sounded like it!  It weas definitely the Ides of March.  Whether they had multiple takes of it and this is one of the takes I can;t say for sure, but it sounded very close to what I remembered!  Thanks big time JR!!

And it definitley does sound like Blood, Sweat, and Tears.  People said that when it came out originally from what I've read about it.

Maybe you're feeling the vibes because Jim Peterik did so much music for the Rocky movies.  confuse

I heard the Saving Jane one last night while I was working. That's one of my favorites. I love how she gets that "Freezeframe Baby!" in there at the last minute. smile.gif

Me too.  It's "sexy cute".

I must say, with my husband having his own radio show, I slacked on Station IDs for FFR this NAMM, compared to last time.  But I will get around to doing some editing and sending in eventually.  So much to do, so little time...

I didn't know your husband does a show. Is it something we can listen to online?

It is!  It's called Noize In the Attic.  It's a 2-hour show - all hard rock and heavy metal.  They do a nice job.  Never wanted to promote it on here (conflict of interests and all smile.gif)  But since you asked...

WNHU out of New Haven, CT airs it on the radio, but it does stream online also.
