In order to try to please the goddess of gab (you all know who I'm talking about) here is a new thread.
If you are lucky enough to be working you dream job that's fantastic. But I'm sure most of us have a passion for something else. What is it?
I worked as a freelance videographer for 3 years. I've dabbled in it on a part time basis for nearly 15 years. I work mostly in the sports side of things shooting NBA, NFL College basketball and football. Working for ESPN, Fox Sports, ABC, CBS and anyone wanting a good cameraman. It's a lot of fun, sometimes a lot of work but that doesn't happen too often. Getting access to areas that the regular fan doesn't is what I have always enjoyed and not taken for granted. After all I'm still a fan...but I have credentials.
The travel has been great, LA, San Francisco, New Orleans and Las Vegas. I traveled enough to enjoy it and not get burned out. There are several guys I know that have quit or cut back because they got tired of the travel.
I got out because my kids were involved in band and soccer. Their contests occured on the weekends when the majority of my work occured. After two years I decided I needed to find something that would allow me to be apart of their activities. So I went back to working for the man and really haven't had any regrets. Seeing them doing their thing has been the best part. Plus my wife doesn't have to do it all. So she's happier...and we all know if the wife is happy everyone else is happy.
Well, I really enjoy what I do (packaging design) but it's the industry I do it in that makes me crazy! If I could get a dream job, it would be doing voices for animation, and Mel Blanc would be my role model.
My dream job would be someone like Steve Covey, or Richard Leider is now. They only work a few days a year and get paid handsomely for it. I would love to be able to give a lecture for one day and be paid 200,000 for an appearance. Then, I would play golf until I had the itch to speak again. I would also like the time to write a book-- "America--Shopping Our Way to the Unemployment Line."
Now, I am not really sure what I want to be when I grow up. However, if I ever had enough cash in my pocket to protect me, I would start my own business. I have always wanted my own restuarant, more like a sports bar and grill. You know, good food, good people, plenty of room to watch any game that may be on tv, and even matches from overseas. I realize that it would be a ton of work, but I think I would be okay with it. I wouldn't mind coaching full-time either. So I guess I have a sports related theme going on here. There are other parts of me that wish I had some imagination so I would be talented enough to write books.

I may actually be on my way to my dream job. I love the company I work for, and there's a rumor that soon they may hire someone to do the custmer service part of my job, so I would be just doing marketing and graphic design. It would be perfect if I could move to Arizona and continue doing that job from home, which is a big possibility. If I can do that, I'll be staying here until I retire (and I'm young, so that's a rare thing nowadays). And, knowing me, I doubt I'll retire.
While we're on the subject, things continue to look up for me. As some of you know, I also have a second job working at a spa. Well, they want to hire a couple new receptionists and keep me on just to work on the website and printed materials. And, I'd be working from home except for the occasional Saturday! I think the karma is finally coming back around to me...
Good luck MzHartz. Sounds like the chips are starting to fall into the right places. Maybe my chips would fall into place too if I were to win the huge Powerball lottery jackpot on Wednesday.

ya, i would be a superstar. that would be my dream job. because this wouldn't happen:
I play FFR at work, it is a good blend because there is all different types of music, even country. i like country ok, but i don't love it. i like good old Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash you know?? but not so into The "young country" or "love country". well one of my co-workers (there are 3 of us "Oregon Girls) is a country nerd and a half. she puts it on the worst love-ballad country stations whenever she gets the chance. I get in earlier than her and plus i am the music nazi so we usually have FFR--which is FAIR because like i said, it is a mix we can all enjoy. The other of my coworkers likes FFR the best too. at least that's what she tells me. niether of them play on the forum or even know about it -- which is good so i can say what i want. ANYWAY. you know how my little dude is sick, and i went to meet him (he's home with his daddy today) at the doctor, and when i got back to work the country nerd i work with had turned off my internet stream and put on her own torture radion station. AAAAAHHHHHHHH the other co-worker went home, her daughter is sick--ours both go to little school together. so i have to be tourtured in awkward silence the rest of the day with this eeeew music, and county girl singing along.
ok, so that was off on a tangent. but still a bit fun an juicy!
That's Patrick. Sorry if I killed you! I did it for Star. If you go to the main FFR page you'll see a picture of Patrick that I took at the Indy 500 last year. (He's coming back for the race this Sunday. I'll try to update the picture if I see him.
I'm going to post my picture as soon as I figure that out. Dovetails has his picture on here. I'm going to join that club sooner or later.
JennyCat - Hang in there. I hope your son is feeling better, even if you aren't feeling so well now that you have been totally sucked into the country world. I am sure the singing doesn't help the day. I feel for you. I can sing badly here if that will help you feel better. At least it will be FFR tunes.

I love the Job I have right now, doing Graphic Design for a small printers, well apart from this week, the boss is away on holiday in spain so im far to busy, but If I could do my other dream job it would be as a Pro Wrestler!!! hence where the name Ultimo comes from, "Ultimodragon" who is a pro wretler!
Originally I was going to be "Ultimorich" thus using my real name as well, but I had some problems registering so I had to change it slightly but I like the shorter version now!
Anyway back to the Wrestling, I have always dreamed of being a Wrestler, been a massive WWF/WWE fan for as long as I can remember!
I do what I do 40 hours a week because I seem to have a talent for it. It's not exciting, but I don't get burned out easily either. However, if I could get paid for anything, it'd probably be for decorating, costuming and food preparation for Halloween. I start planning costumes well, NOW! Yes, I've got a problem. My parents are in town from a winter of RVing and when I told them I had a haunters conference this Saturday, my dad wanted to know if it was a 10-step program I was going to.
Hey Ultimo, do you get to watch WWE on a regular basis? I have a friend who loves wrestling too, so I catch a lot of WWE. (Although I'm usually critiquing their costumes. For example, I think Batista looks like a grown man in Superman underwear.)
Zim, I'm the same way! Last year, I was Little Red Riding Hood and my husband was the Big Bad Wolf. This year we're going to be punk rockers. I planned that the day after Halloween when a whole bunch of black light makeup was marked down! We've also been a doctor and a sexy nurse, the Grim Reaper and Celesta (a mythical figure that sent souls to the afterlife), a monster and it's captive (I was the monster), and a vampire and a black widow. Halloween is my favorite holiday!
a formula one driver at Monaco. Screeming thru the tunnel at 180, man please, errkk, quick stop at the casino ( dont forget to tip the dealer)then stop at the hotel (pay my bill) ( with winnings from casino ). Then down the waterfront like a bat outta .. STOP !! sign autograph for girl on balconey, then off raceing again . Clip Shumacher , ha ha , have a nice day Mikey!!Throw a rock at his brother as i blow by him , give a big thumbs up to Kimi as i overtake him for the lead and the WWWIINN !!! Then off to the podium to be met by royalty (who also have big big big bottles of champange) (try not to fall down during anthem ) , say thanks , pick up a fat check then vroom , back to the balconey !! either that or vice president , ya know , sit around doing nothing all day and getting paid for it.
Mz, I dont get too watch as much WWE now as I used to, we get all the shows over here, RAW is even on live here but its all on TV stations I don't currently have but I do get to see round up shows of whats been happening and WWE.com keeps me up to date as well. I agree about Batista, but if I had the body he does I guess I would strut around in some very tight pants too!!
mine would be a jazz dj! I get to live that dream here at FFR- which is better than a broadcast station in many ways due to the global reach (without syndication) and the tolerance for booze in the studio!
