Sorry Dovetails...That's Patrick Dempsey not me. I did that one for Star. I think I'll add mine when I figure where to upload to. I tried to do something with the HP photo site but I guess it didn't post. I was a red X for a while. What site did you use?

If you, or anyone else wants, email me your pic to dovetails@gmail.com and I'll host it on one of my servers for you. I can resize/crop etc it too if need be.
I can then just give you the url to your avatar and you'll be all set.

Now all you have to do is click on your username at the top where is says you are "Logged in as" . . . then click the "Edit Profile" link. Next, scroll down to where it says "Avatar URL" and enter that web address I just emailed you. That is the URL (Address) to your avatar which is now on my server.
Clear as mud?

If you want a picture of your own as an avatar, that picture needs to be on a web server somewhere on the net so it can be read and displayed with your posts.
Not everyone has a good place (host, server, website, etc) where they can put their picture so it's web accessible. I happen to have just that . . . a web server (actually two of them). So I am offering anyone here who needs or wants to post their own avatar picture, a place to host their pic.
You can email me your pic at dovetails@gmail.com and I'll crop it if necessary to get it within the 100x100 pixel limit, I'll put it on my server, and provide you the link, URL, web address (whatever you wish to call it) to that pic (avatar). Then, in the avatar settings on your forum account, you can enter the web address, height, and width (which I will provide) to your pic.
When that is done and someone looks at one of your posts, your pic will get pulled (read) from my server and displayed here on the board.
I hope that makes more sense.
