Well thats what my reply was going to be wehn somechick tod us what she likes, I don't really read all that much, I do read the odd autobiography but I have been wanting to start reading more so I thought this would be a great chance to do so!
I've been reading graphic novels more lately. I got hooked on Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. I did just read Restuarant at the End of the Universe (because I just saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy but couldn't find my copy of the book, so I went ahead a skipped to book 2. I've read them all many times before anyway.) I'd be up for a book club.
My dad loves this author for his humor, and my dad is pretty picky about what makes him laugh, so I'll go on a book reference from him no matter what it's about.
I'd be in for a book club, if you all will be patient with me! I'm one of those who starts a pile of books and there all 1/2 done. I did finish "The DaVinci Code" not too long ago. Good writing, even if loose on the facts.
Hey MZ! I'm almost done with re-reading "Watchmen". They are working on a movie finally!
I'm in. I love reading. my favorite author is Anne Rice because i've read all her books and many of them multiple times. I dont' know if she would be my favorite if i had read enough other people though. I've read most Steinbeck. I'm reading the Harry Potter books right now. Finally broke down and they are pretty good. I used to read true crime stuff, but i REALLY don't like it anymore. and i can't read scary stuff either--ghosts are ok, but truly scary stuff like serial killers is a no no. like stuff that could really happen, you know? but i love novels that are based on history, that's always good. so ya, you all pick something. then we read it and talk about it here right? sounds fun....
I read the first chapter to the Russo book Zim suggested. She left a link if anyone is interested? That might be a fun read. It seems there is an interest in a book club. Very cool. Any thoughts?
They are very funny, but very British. You have too like Monty Python style humor, or be open to giving it a try. They are a quick read, however, which could be good.
