Is it me, or is the playlist that is playing right now an exact repeat of earlier today, repeating both system picks and user requests in the exact order they were played this am?
"Tell me, does it move you, Does it soothe you, Does it fill your heart and soul with the roots of rock & roll? When you can't get through it you can listen to it with a 'na na na na', Well I've been there before" -"Been There Before" by Hanson
The system seems to be cycling through nearly the same set of songs. Not sure where the start and end points of the set are, but if you look at the recently played list right now, many of those songs were played yesterday morning, and then again yesterday afternoon, in the same order. The system does allow requests, but then later seems to work those same requests into the regular playlist.
'Course, all of a sudden I';m getting an Application Error int he Loudcity window and the feed won't come up. It was working just a few mintues ago....

Yeesh, I have NO idea what's going on.
It's particularly odd with the requests being mixed back in. They should never replay unless they were requested again.
Well, might be a good thing we're switching to a different computer this weekend.
JR, here's another example. Right now Buster Poindexter is playing. This was a request yesterday morning, but now the system seems to have put it in the regular rotation.
JR - I see Donna Summer and Extreme in the play queue. Based on how the playlist has been performing recently, I can confidently predict that the songs will be 'She Works Hard for the mony' and 'Hole-Hearted'. Hole-Hearted was a request yesterday morning. I don;t rememebr if She works hard was a request or not.
Well thanks for the info Mursclub, you helped lead me to the problem. Although I'm still not sure WHY the problem occured in the first place.
Some code in the clockwheel (which is the code that tells the system how to select music) had been reverted back to it's original state from years ago. This has been a problem lately, the system has for some reason been resetting back to older settings.
At any rate, the clockwheel was pulling the MOST RECENTLY PLAYED SONG as soon as it was eligible to be replayed. It's supposed to be set to pull the LEAST recently played song from the main playlist (which is about 2400 songs).
I changed it back, you should notice a big difference with songs not being repeated for days unless they're requested or are part of the new single program.
