Transferring the 6000 songs back into the system is going to take about 5 times longer than expected. It now appears we will not be back up and running until 8 PM CT at the earliest.
Sorry for the incovnenience everyone. But this will solve a lot of the problems we've been experiencing the past few weeks.
I suppose I could pick up some of the stale donuts left in the WELCOME TO THE NEWBIE threads, but some of those things have been laying around for months.
So I'll just keep working on this for the fun of it.
I thought it was my computer that wouldn't play the request system. So thanks for telling me. Hey, thanks for spending your weekend at the station. Looking forward to a good broadcast next week.
We'd get dropped a lot, and then the office mates would scream "What the H?" and then I'd have to calm them down and say "hey..it's not the DJs, it's the lame connection". I've got your back.
The broadcast computer is fully reformatted and now running behind a firewall and an anti-virus program.
NOTHING but the station runs on this computer, so hopefully we will no longer experience the glitches we have over the past few weeks.
We DID LOSE almost 200 songs in the process of fixing the system, but I was able to write most of them down and will start reloading them into the system later today.
