Tonight! On Jazz 101

Tonight's Jazz 101 will be featuring recordings from various incarnations of the New Orleans based Preservation Hall Band- tracks will be featured from the October 18th 1964 recording called "New Orleans' Sweet Emma and Her Preservation Hall Jazz Band" and also from the 2004 release "Preservation Hall Band- Shake That Thing" which features performers that we saw last Wednesday Night at the hall- Frank Demond on trombone, Joseph Lastie on drums, Walter Payton on bass, Ralph Johnson on clarinet, and the wonderful John Brunious leading the band on trumpet!!


These cats came together and created a party out of thin air! It will cure all that ails ye!! Don't miss tonights Jazz 101 8 pm CST right here on Freeze Frame Radio!! You bring your wine, I'll supply the tunes!

Johnny Mellencamp shoulda named his song Jack & Coke instead of Jack & Diane.  It might have hit number one instead of stalling out in the middle of the top ten.

Due to technical glitches, I am unable to bring you the Preservation Hall Jazz Band music this evening. We'll try for next weeks show. However, the first hour of jazz 101 will feature music from the new orleans area!
