Tonight's Jazz 101 will be featuring recordings from various incarnations of the New Orleans based Preservation Hall Band- tracks will be featured from the October 18th 1964 recording called "New Orleans' Sweet Emma and Her Preservation Hall Jazz Band" and also from the 2004 release "Preservation Hall Band- Shake That Thing" which features performers that we saw last Wednesday Night at the hall- Frank Demond on trombone, Joseph Lastie on drums, Walter Payton on bass, Ralph Johnson on clarinet, and the wonderful John Brunious leading the band on trumpet!!
