Wow. I bet four kids keep you hopping. I have two teens one nearly 19 and the other 14. Our 14 year old is the hand full. She just told me yesterday that she "needs" and "has to have" a pair of $65 jeans. I told her get a job and you can buy all of them you want.
man! can I relate. My oldest is a cheerleader for the high school (cost alot of money) and I am also a AA Competitive Soccer coach with my sons team. so yes we do keep hooping around alot.
I hear ya brother. My youngest wanted to try out for cheerleader this year. She was selected in March and we dropped $500 and she won't cheer until basketball starts in January. She plays travel soccer too.
Hi! I'm Mad Mema... real name is Michele. I'm 35 and I've been married for 16 years. I have 2 stepsons (I consider them my own) and 3 grandkids whom I adore. My best friend in the world is Pambo. For pets I have 5 cats and one very loud bird. As for religious sway, I do believe in God... I don't believe in organized religion.
I wish I had time for a hobby, but I have one of those jobs that ends up taking over my life for extended periods of time. Let's just say I came to learn of Freeze Frame Radio from Pambo during the wee small hours of the morning one day while working on Hurricane Katrina recovery.
At the moment, I'm a bikeless biker. I used to have a '95 Fatboy, but it got traded for a '57 Fairlane Skyliner that has since been sold. Some day I'll get another Harley.

Mema, so what type of field are you in? What do you do at work? It almost sounds like you work for a charitable organization. I am the Patient Campaign Specialist for the Children's Organ Transplant Association. The long fancy title really just means that I'm the point of contact for families, patients, and their volunteers.
Hey all... sorry I was delayed on responding to all this. It's been a week! I'm a Senior Network Engineer for Sprint Nextel Corp. The job title is horribly non-descriptive. What it comes down to is I am an upper level technical support / development person for their domestic and international networks. If it is something new or it is a big, bad problem I get to mess with it. That is how I got mixed up with Hurricane Katrina recovery. As I'm sure you can imaging, we lost some gear thanks to the flooding. Pambo and I were in a cast of hundreds working really long hours to get phone service restored all along the southern seaboard.
Dylan... "Mad" is more or less wild/crazy/insane in reference to me. We have lots of fun at the office because we tend to work in a high stress environment. Someone has to break up the stress and tension... so lots of times that is me. We have an office "rowing" team, chair races, we throw little rubber balls at each other, take random dance breaks, and crack lots of jokes with each other. Frequently, I'm the ring leader of the mayhem. Sometimes, I'm also the person who either gets nominated or just decides to "right the wrongs" around here too. I tend to defend those who aren't in a position to defend themselves. Given my position around here, I have a lot more sway with upper management than a lot of people so it's part of the job to take care of my crew.

Gotta be Sturgis!! Cool... I haven't made it out there yet. Something always comes up. With any luck, I will get another bike in the spring, so maybe I'll be there for '06.

If you haven't been here yet, you are in for a suprise! It has to be the biggest party ever! You don't even need a motorcycle to take it all in. My town has about 6000 people normally, by mid week there is over 500,000. It's nothing new to me since I've lived here all my life, but I could imagine what it would be like to the visitor.

I've heard the stories. My younger son and his wife have been there twice. We were actually planning to go this summer, but something came up at work and plans changed. I wouldn't want to go without a bike... it just wouldn't be the same. Someday, oh yes... someday I'll get there.

I have been married for 4 yrs. and have a 13 yr old step-daughter who lives with her mother.
And a little about me getting married. I swore I would never get married. No one in my family ever stayed together. I said what's the point the first marriage never works! I guess you just have to wait until you find the right person. I didn't think I would ever end up with my husband because he was with someone else when we met. But after some time we still became a couple. I believe we were always meant to find each other. We might not have much of anything else, but at least we have love! Sorry for going on and on. But for those of you still looking for love just hang on!
I work for a non-profit organization. For most of my 10yrs here I was a facility manager for a sheltered workshop for the mentally and physically disabled. We teach them work skills and some social skills. If and when someone is ready we find them a job and provide job coaching until they are ready to be on their own. As much as it is stressful it is more rewarding! They show you unconditional love! They become your family. About a year ago I was offered to change positions. I now work on some of the payroll/billing and other data entry. Although I have knowledge of computers I don't know all the technical stuff and have never been on a forum before. I've looked but never posted. So be patient with me please.

Welcome to the crowd Woo Hoo! MzHartz also works for a non-profit: Children's Organ Transplant Association. She's the person who work with the patients and families to start fundraising to pay for transplant related expenses. She usually only checks in at night, but she'd definately understand the stressful but rewarding situations that you're talking about!
Ooops sorry, that will be hard to get used to not saying. Glad you jumped right in. Sounds like you found another meant to be thing in your life! Be warned this place is addicting! It is very friendly, funny and like home. You have a lot in common with a lot of us.
That's cool Woo Hoo. I used to have a very small DJ business and the one gig I really enjoyed was the Rise Learning Center Prom. Rise is for mentally challanged kids. I was very surprised that the kids really knew their music. I did it for three years. The kids were great and a lot of fun.
