RE: Please introduce yourself!!!

Some of you already know me but for those of you that don't, my name is Sandy, I live in Saginaw, MI--just found out not too far from Woo!!--I'm married and have two girls; 17 and 14, and I also share my home with a black Labrador Retriever.  Since I work for the school district, I get the summers off, which is great because it gives me a chance to spend some time up at our cottage.  I love to read with my favorite books being The Dark Tower series by Stephen King--love Roland and his gang.  Anyone else read these??  I love PS2 and have my favorite games to play in my spare time--though recently my daughters introduced me to the two Guitar Hero games and now I'm addicted to them.  And I absolutely love music of almost any kind--I listen to everything from Classical (Brahms, Chopin, Mozart) right up to today's heavy metal artists--about the only stuff I don't care for is Country, Rap, and Death Metal--I consider Rap and Death Metal major ear pollution and a waste of perfectly good air waves.  I found FFR through myspace, have already made a few new friends here (I think, ha) and hope to get to know more of you.

Since I have failed to post in this thread previously...I thought I should post my details in here!  Excuse the length of it but just want you to know all about me!

Well I am from a small isolated town called Weipa in Far North Queensland Australia right on the tip of Cape York Peninisular in gulf country...which means crocodile country!!  It is a tiny town, isolated from the rest of the country and population so I do not get to see many people up there!  Just over 2000 people live there...in the whole of the tip of Queensland only 10,000 people reside within the cape scattered all over the place!  So cool!  I moved here to start life again and begin a new crazy adventure!  So strange to be a city chick after 32 years and move to the sticks!  I've been a high heel and city attire gal all my life...but that has not changed...I just blended myself in with the traditional Aussie flavoured folk much to their amusement!

I began my life on the 7th March 1974 in a small country town in New South Wales in the Hunter Valley wine country in a town called Singleton.  My parents moved us to Brisbane a couple of years later where I grew up my whole life in there living in the inner city amongst the hustle and bustle of city life apart from a couple of stints of living in Sydney and on the sunny Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise!!

I'm a university graduate!  I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration Management degree...and I worked for the same university for 7 years which I have now given up to move to Weipa!  I loved my job but I wanted something new..and I sure have it now!  I have accepted a position within the school up here...which means I get all the school holidays off...and Australian schools sure get alot of them!  Yay!  Means plenty of time for travel and I will be travelling all over the place!  I aim to explore my country in depth and also visit overseas as much as possible as well!  I cannot wait to visit the USA and UK and hope I will get to meet some of you eventually!

I am single again after 14 years...and I have been loving it!  Even though I have not even looked at another person with interest in months...who has time...have been having too much fun meeting new people on myspace and through my travels!  I am having a ball!

But my main interests are reading...I too am a Stephen King nut, but I enjoy my books on political satire...the Australian government offer such fodder for it!  I love sketching, painting, drawing, I love all the arts really!  I enjoy the beach...even though I live near the ocean now I cannot swim there due to the salt water and freshwater crocodiles inhabiting all the waterways!  I love spontaneous impulsive travel and behaviour but my main passion is my love of music!  I love rock, a fondness for Aussie rock, jazz, blues, funk, soul!  I spent my years going out to pubs just to see live original bands on a regular basis!  I support live music wholheartedly!  I assisted a couple of bands with Public Relations and even appeared in one of their music video clips!  The only music I cannot handle is rap, hip-hop and death metal...i do not consider this music!

Admittedly it was JD who found me via myspace a short while back and he introduced me to the wonderful group of people here at FFR and I am enjoying everyone immensely!  So fantastic to meet everyone!  Am going to enjoy getting to know everyone a whole lot more!

Hi Jules,  I too am divorcing after 14 years of marriage.  You seem to be doing well.  I like the idea of life and scenery changes when life throws us a curveball.  With two kids, I can't do anything quite as drastic as you, I'm thinking about a shorter cut or a change of haircolor.  Maybe I'll be totally wild and sell the Ford Taurus and get a little Volkswagen Beetle or something.  I think that's as out there as I could get.

Squonk.

A creature when backed into a corner or difficult situation will escape by weeping itself until it becomes a pool of tears. It’s one of those songs from when I  was a teen, really stuck in my head. Genesis was one of my favorite bands back then. I still dig listening to that old stuff from time to time. I went through the punk/new wave thing in the late seventies and thru the eighties. Of course, I tried Grunge. It was okay. I’ve got a short attention span for music. Now it seems that I “honor” bands more than really like or love any specific style or band. It’s a mood thing.

I’m a dad. A husband. I’m always trying to get some form of exercise built in to my day.

Hamburgers are the best food ever.

I’ve owned over forty cars since 1980. Presently, I have a remarkable car. A 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible. I only drive it when it perfect out. I try to justify driving a car that gets 12-14 mpg by riding my bike to work as often as I can. In summer, I drive a 1997 Celica convertible for my daily driver.

Favorite way to chill: Vodka Tonic on the patio during a summer eve. Jazz playing on JD’s old stereo that I keep in the garage.

When I grow up I want to be an artist.

Come to think of it, I don't think I ever introduced myself....

I'm 48, married for 23 years to Terri and have a 16 year old son, Andrew, who is a Straight A student and has been since Elementary School.  He's now a 10th grader in HS.  I live in the Orlando, Florida area and have for the past 16 years (well April will be 16).  Before moving the family to Florida I lived in the Philadelphia area, although primarily on the New Jersey side.  I lived in the New York City area (born in Brooklyn, lived in Queens, on Long Island and in NJ) until I graduated HS and then moved to South New Jeesry for College (Rowan University, if ya care).  Hobbies include sports and music.  Love the NY Mets and Orlando Magic.  As far as music, I'm a 70's junkie and for some reason have not much knowledge from the early and mid 80's, but picked up again in the 90's.  Fav artists include Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffett, Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins and just about any live music I can get to!

No, I haven't but I sooooo want to go. It seems like fun! I need a sweet ride to do something like that, though...

Last year I did go to Athens, GA for the Women's Motorcycle Conference and was that ever cool! Hundreds of women riding through that beautiful college town wearing our "I Am Not A Backrest" t-shirts. I got to take a jaunt through the Dragon's Tail on a friend's bike. Motorcycling is such a magnificent experience!

Actually we just love to waste time at work and have truly found a safe place on the internet to laugh, cry and just be!

I was a single mom/student for a long time. Almost was again not too long ago. My hubby and I have a 4 year old and each have our own teenager. I put myself through school while my son was 2-8. What are you studying?

Oh cool! I work with the mentally and physically disabled. My favorite consumer is autistic. For awhile I worked with him so much that people started calling him my son! (even though he is older than me!) Since I changed departments I don't get to work hands on much anymore. cry

CP here and believe it or not one of the first to sign up.  I am a Milwaukean through and through, until it comes to drinking, then forget Miller, its just Jack.  The bat signal is Cher's walking in Memphis and Chaka Kahn's Through the fire.  These two songs stir very different emotions of lost loves, and hearing them brings back smiles unexplained to wife, although she's not done.

I spend lots of time traveling.  I don't think I have been home but 40 days so far this year.  Spent a couple weeks in Greece and Italy.  They have such beautiful women.  Party on Mykanos, but stuck with Ouzo.  That's some freaky schnit.  You will see a couple of German models on my space that I took.

I have taken back up photography.  I work for a producer in West Hollywood updating his actors resume pics.  I also take lot's of shots for vain male models that think their schnit don't stink.  I actually have a spread coming up in Playgirl.  (That sounded bad, the spread is not me.  I spread nothing for magazines.)

So, if any of you want to model, check out myspace page.  I have a few examples on there--the more mild ones at least.  I even got my son to pose.  You'll get a quick glimpse of his hiney Thumper.

I love golf, had three back surgeries and died in Feb.  Got jump started with the paddles, charge to 300:  CLEAR.  Now I am all kinds of meds.  Not supposed to be working, but have to feed the family.

I love my Freeze frame family and miss you all terribly.

Probably TMI, but there it is.  If you want the naked ones, you have to buy the magazine, but Thumper, I will send you one privately.  You'll drool for days.

so there it is the first one is me, then my son, then both daughters, the trevi fountain and sunset on the med.  The black and white picture is going into a magazine called The Advocate as part of an advertisement for one of the Gay Resorts in Palm Springs.  Hey, it pays the bills.

Wow! I had never seen this thread! It was fun going back and reading some of them. I will add my part.

I am a 29 year old single mother of a six year old girl. She is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I live in a small town called Welcome and the population is around 10,000. I work as a teacher assistant for autistic children. I love my job! I am dating a wonderful man and he has made me happier than I have ever been. We (my daughter and I) just got a new cat the other day. She has been great!

I joined the forum back on April 26, 2007 and I have met a lot of great people. I host the show " Matters of the Heart " on Friday nights. I have been really slack about it lately, but I will be back on this Friday at 9pm cst.

That is about all.smile
