Dave-

Great rant.  I'm with you on that!

NBA Finals....I'm sticking with Detroit.  I really, really thought Miami would lose in 5.  I was surprised it went seven.  I like San Antonio but I think Detroit is too physical for them.  The Wallace boys are hard to beat night in and night out.  They like to wear you down.  Over a long series I think that will be the determining factor.

I got'ta go with the Pistons as well, and that is not easy for a Chicagoian to say.  There in the finals again, they have the momentum behind them.  Oh well, at least it's not Bill Lambier, and the Bulls actually made the playoffs this year!

And the Blackhawks didn't lose to Detroit or St. Louis!

I have to admit I was pulling for the Heat because I like Dwayne Wade, a Marquette boy and all.

Now that Detroit is in, I am pulling for the Spurs, but the Pistons will probably wear them down.  Maybe this is one for the prayer thread

im from Mi.so ill say Detroit.  Truth is  I gave up on that millionares club  along time ago,  been watching  alot of ncaa  womens softball , lots of action , emotion, great story lines on the players etc.  these girls are makeing thier mamas (and dads ) proud.  tonite is game 2 of championship, UCLAhas a 1 game lead over U of Mich. (best 2 outta 3 ).   ps. its a nice change to see 20 yr. olds slideing into 2nd instead of slideing down a firepole ,and, they do alot of neat things with thier hair. lol

Dave-
How 'bout them Wolverines!!!!!
I didn't get to watch the game until the 6th. I thought Michigan might have lost it when they didn't get more runs with bases loaded. Then they survive the scare in the 9th. My wife actually called the home run and the game ending pop out. Then she sat there all smug acting like she new all along what was going to happen. Geez...she should have put that physic ability into the lottery.

Hey, Confuzzed!

Obviously I hope the Wolves make a huge comback, but if not, that's OK!  The wolves have had unbelievable success since joining the IHL, and survived the transition to the AHL.  They have a couple of Calders already so if it goes to the Phantoms, so be it!

The best part of the whole thing is that the Blackhawks and the Flyers have to BOIL in it!  Play your stupid, greedy games and enjoy your unpaid vacation time!

Time to bring this one back!

The Blackhawks today moved their Ass. General Mngr. up to General Mngr., and he fired the coach, Daryll Sutter.  While I don't agree with firing Sutter, the buzz is that they're making these moves because they're getting ready to start training.  The lock-out may be over!

What do y'all think?  Do you believe it?  Are you happy?

In ancient times it was a game played by dedicated athletes who competed for love of the sport.

That was then, this is now.

Wef,
How can you keep a coach that didn't have a win last year?
What if management is just reducing more payroll? Coaches aren't part of the union, are they?
The trainer will be next, then the video guy, then the mascot.
When it does end they can replace everyone because there will a lot of people just wanting a job.

and in Nascar news this week, Sterling Marlin is out at Ganassi Raceing , seems Coors wants a younger man for there product.  Young guys and beer , now THATS gotta be the image Nascar wants !!  So much for the FAMILY  sport they been bragging on .  hmm, maybe Marlin can take over the Viagra car after M.Martin's retirement

I don't know Dave, that seems like a pretty stiff task for anyone replacing Mark.

If anyone can remember back to when they actually played hockey, not just argued over it, Daryll Sutter was actually doing a good job with the B-Hawks rookies.  He also had a lot of respect from his players.  Then stupidity fell.  We've had this discussion many times, and we're still at the same spot.  Got to look past the immediate dollar signs and think of a quality sport.  Same pain as in NASCAR (and every other sport!)

Hey, Annonymous.

Check out the Game 7 thread, that was the whole discussion.  Feel free to add on and bring it back to the top.
