A depressing thought, but actually very accurate. Often the people who know you best are the ones that think you're crazy when you dream big. But someone who's first meeting you accepts your dreams as a part of who you are.
My favorite is one I always tell my girls. When they were younger they would always say this isn't fair or that isn't fair. After hearing that for hours I told them, "There are only three kinds of fair in this world. The county fair, the state fair and the worlds fair. Everything else is not fair so get used to it."
I would make them repeat it when they would whine about 'not fair' stuff. They got the message and I rarely hear it anymore.
"If you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat."
"Don't sweat the petty things, or pet the sweaty things!"
"Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven."
And one for anyone who has worked in advertising design:

I realized that was true after my first marriage. Looking back, I had more fun getting there than being in it. The destination wasn't life but life was about the journey.
Well, it was my first marriage because I plan on having a second one! Is this about bi-polar rollerskaters? I haven't married one of those. Although...
