Man, I think I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.
I kept Andora (friend's 14 month old) overnight Friday night.
Saturday we went to Dark Carnival (an independent horror film fest). Brian went home before it was over, but I stayed for the rest of the films.
I wasn't planning on it, but I ended up going back to Dark Carnival, alone, on Sunday. It's surprising how exhausting it is to watch scary movies all weekend long, especially when sitting by yourself. But I still had a blast.
We made it through "birthday weekend". We have finally entered the console gaming market. We got the boy a PS3 on Saturday. He said he wanted a Wii, but after talking to him, the main thing he liked about the sitter's Wii is the "Lego Indiana Jones" game. I thought the cool graphics of a PS3 would probably keep his interest longer as he gets older. We got him the Lego "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" games, and I got an off road racing game called "Dirt 2". I think I stayed out too late bouncing around in the Baja last night which made me sleepy. Its amazing how realistic-looking these games are now.
I also got a new bike Saturday. The boy and I went for about a five mile ride Saturday evening. I quickly realized that my 43 year old butt needed a bit more padding on that hard seat. It was fun though, we were coasting down a nice quiet street and the boy looked over at me, smiled and said "thanks for getting a bike to do this with me, dad".
Packers vs Vikings tonight, Huskers on Thursday night, yay football!
I found out yesterday that my nephew screwed up his knee in Friday night's game. Second to the last play. They had to go to a specialist and he told my nephew, "You are the 5th football knee injury today, and you are the only one that doesn't require surgery" . . . so he was feeling pretty fortunate about that. He's bummed about being out for the season though.
Let me check . . . yup, still Monday.

Looks like a cloudy, cool, rainy day for the Tulsa metro -- 62 for a high.
So far everyone in my home has been sick, but me (knock on wood). It starts out as a sore throat and mild fever for a day or two, then feel better for a day, then WHAM!, it ninja kicks you right in the chops, and you're down for a few days with sinus and chest congstion. I've been going heavy on the zinc and vitamin c, and theraflu cold and sinus at night.
I feel blue today...

Morning all. State auditor in the house today. Fun. I have given him paperwork to keep him occupied. Gave him a little reminder that I have already been audited for part of the open period and we shall see what that gains me. I am sure I will have to spend some more time with him this afternoon. I am okay with that. He is a nice guy and down to earth. He is not your typical auditor type. Hopefully we will have most of this audit wrapped up today. That would be good.
Feels better DS family.
Sorry to hear that your nephew is done for the season Web. But at least he is done all his sports for a year. Surgery would have knocked him out much longer. Glad that you and Web Jr had a good time.
Take a nap Mz, that should help.

Good day, all! It is a lovely yet chilly day here. I'm soooo happy that Pambo is back to work. YAY!
Not much going on here other than yesterday was Little Man's birthday, so we are celebrating today. I stopped on the way into work and bought a cake and some cards. The gang is going to take him out to lunch later.
Web... very cool moment for you and your boy. May you have many more. Best wishes for your nephew.
DS... hope you have a brigher day. Stay healthy!
Fuzzy... don't hurt the auditor. It never works out well.
Mz... throw on some dark sunglasses and nap away.

I am planning big things for my Flyers this year. I hope the can humor me by making it come true. I think we can have a 82-0 regular season. And there will be 41 shutouts. This, of course, is based soley upon two regular season games. The Flyers won their season opener with a shutout of Carolina. The next night they almost shutout the Devils, but ended up giving up two third period goals.
Let's go Flyers!

Well, napping is out of the question. I just learned that I have to recreate a rather complicated newsletter that someone else designed from scratch, and that they need it to be printed and shipped by Wednesday. Which means I need the proof approval for the thing I don't have ready yet 2 hours ago. And then they keep emailing me about it. Stop bothering me and let me work on your project!
