Q: Which NL Central baseball team has won the MOST playoff games in the past three seasons combined?

A:  The Milwaukee Brewers  (1)

The other teams record:

St. Louis Cardinals  ( 0 - 3 )

Chicago Cubs  ( 0 - 6 )

It ain't much to hang our hat on, but I'll take what I can get!

Wow...I'd have thought the Cards had more.

I saw online that Bill James never favors trading hitting for pitching.  Makes you wonder how the Brewers are gonna come up with two arms before spring training.

I predict we will see Ben Sheets back on a Brewer uni.   Thats one.

I think they need a decent pitching coach first and foremost.

I have a feeling we'll make a real run at Beckett too.

I think the last few years have really shown that once you get into the playoffs you HAVE to have pitching.

And this year we proved you have to have it to get there in the first place.

I cannot believe Melvin Whiffed that bad on his assessment of the pitching.

I also dont believe they can expect 3 million in the stands again next year if they dont put a better team on the field.

I love Suppan as a person, but I think they will eat his contract or he goes to middle relief.

Looper, not sure he deserves a spot in the rotation either.

Yvonnie is the only guaranteed spot I would think.

I think Looper should be the example forever used as how unimportant your win-loss record is in baseball.

The guy was 14 - 7 with an ERA over 5.00

Meanwhile Gallardo, who typically went against the opponents ace pitcher, had something like 7 games where the Brewers gave him one run or less.

Well opposing the other team's ace is a steeper hill than the number 5 pitcher's opponent.

Doesn't matter. Last year the Phillies only lost one game per playoff series in route to the championship. So far they have duplicated that trend. We shall see what happens with the Dodgers.

Have I mentioned let's go Phillies! lately?

It would be nice. The Phillies have a long basball history. There were years of losing teams. After all, there is a reason why we have over 10,000 loses in 127 years of baseball. The main core of this bunch missed out on the playoffs (by a game or two) for three straight years. They have worked hard, the have picked up new pieces and still have the heart. A repeat performance in any sport is difficult. I would love to see it happen for the Phillies. I never thought I would see it once, so to see a World Series championship two years in a row would be tremendous. (Although I would still like a Stanley Cup and a Vince Lombardi trophy too.)

Well, The Eagles have been to the NFC Championship games a number of years now...

a tremendous accomplishment...but their window may be closing.

As far as the Flyers are concerned...I am not a big hockey guy since we dont have the NHL...but I have always been partial to Detroit because of my dad's ties to MI.

Focus on the Phillies for now...dont get greedy.  nana.gif

Well, you don't know what it is like to live in a city that hadn't had a major pro championship in over 25 years. So, I would welcome a ton of them at once.

This from the man who constantly reminds me about his Packers and how successful they are. We hadn't had anything since 1983. Sure we had championships that I count, but most don't count them because they weren't one of the major four. We have had minor league hockey, indoor soccer, lacrosse and indoor football championships.

How many championships did the Packers win before they "invented" the Superbowl?

I believe it was nine titles before the superbowl.

They then won Super Bowl I, II, and XXXI.  They lost Superbowl XXXII to the Broncos.
