Hey Ghost...why ruin a nice Sunday by throwing in those kind of 4 letter words.

M, I recognize and appreciate your independence.  I was appealing to your humanity.  Think of it as a humanitarian mission.  biggrin

Hey Ghost!

I think we dodged the bullet on the snow here. It was supposed to arrive tonight but now they're saying it's not likely. Web got 2 or 3 inches of the white stuff.

Last night it dropped to 30 degree's here. Crazy for early October. Yeesh.

I woke up to a cold 26 this morning.  The last of my flowers froze to death last night. cry

That particular 4 letter word should have made it to Carlin's list of words you can't say on tv. laughing.gif

Taxconsin NEEDS a Republican governor. Even the staunchest Democrats should be hoping for a governor who believes in fewer taxes right now. This state is out of control and just on schedule to get worse.

Sounds like the city where I live.  They keep asking the voters to lift the property tax cap; problem is, they are so badly mismanaging the tax dollars they get right now that everyone's afraid to give them any more money to waste, yet if the tax cap doesn't get lifted this time around, the basic services our city provides are going to be in deep doo-doo by this time next year.  None of us know what's the right thing to do when we go to the polls next month.  It's a royal mess right now and has the potential to get even worse whichever way the vote goes.

I heard the average home price in Detroit is down to 11,500. We should gobble up homes and hope for a turnaround!

Seriously?

Charging more for cars than for houses.  That isnt even a sub compact price.  Who could live in a sub compact?

Wow.  Just Wow.

WOW... last I heard the average home price in Detroit proper is $25K. Must be dropping like a rock. My sister lives in the 'burbs... the same does not happen there because they are on the water by Lake St. Clair.

Wow Sandy, that's crazy! It's sad to see some of the beautiful architecture falling apart from neglect.

I fear that's what ALL our cities will look like if we don't break this cycle of taxing employers out of the area.

Our leaders want us to believe they're not taxing us when they tax businesses, but the reality is those businesses either pass along the tax to us in the cost of their services or worse yet they move to area's with a better business climate.

The jobs move and the people that are left either move with them or stay and live in poverty.

It's an absolute crime that a city as great as Detroit and the surrounding areas have been allowed to decline to what's seen on that video.

Meanwhile our elected leaders drive from their posh homes to the state capital in cars with heated, leather seats paid for by the taxpayer.

I'm so sick of it all. Someone has to take control back.

I'm not well versed in the details of what's led to Detroits demise, although I'm sure a big part of it is the collapse of the auto industry. But I'll also bet flawed policy by the local and state government is at the root of it all.

I can't say for sure that my number is correct Mema.  I heard it on the radio.  Actually I had heard $12,000 on MSNBC just about two weeks ago, then last week on the radio the news person said it was $11,500.

Could be dropping like that... the unemployment rate is now something like 27%. I was just thinking "DANG! I'd have a second home in Michigan if that bad boy across the canal from my sister was $11,500."
