Another hint, these two stars made another movie together in the 80's.  The 80's movie produced a top ten hit sung by the female lead. I probably just gave away too much.

I still laugh at this movie.  Not really a Barbara Streisand fan, but I loved Madeline Kahn.  She made that whole movie.
