I can't get the flu shot, and I'm kind of glad that I don't have to make that decision. But even if I could get the flu shot, I don't know if I would. I wonder if it's healthy to get sick sometimes, the whole "what doesn't kill me" adage. Of course, I'm also currently sick with a cold, so I'm being hypocritcal.
But either way, "they" say that the swine flu shot is made the same way as the seasonal flu shot, so it doesn't come with any additional risks.
Its a dark, cloudy day, but the temp is not bad at all for mid November.
Flu shot? I don't know either. I'm with Mz in thinking its good for us to get sick now and then. I sometimes wonder too if we are setting ourselves up for something even bigger with all the hand sanitizers, and avoidance. But yet, getting sick sucks and is no fun.
Good day, all. I've been puttering around getting a few things done today. I love WFH Thurday.
Its sunny and about 48* right now. I haven't been outside yet. Maybe later this afternoon.
I had the seasonal flu shot a while ago. It was no big deal, just made my arm sore for a few days. Haven't had the swine flu shot yet because they keep talking about the shortages. I'd rather those who are more at risk than I get them first. I might get one when there is a greater supply available.

Hi all. Rainy/cloudy day here. We are getting weather from what is left of Hurricane Ida. The ugliness could hang around before finally clearing on Sunday. In the meantime I am trying to get some audit prep done and off to the boss.

I've never had a flu shot. And as for myself, I don't plan on getting the swine flu shot. At home, the boys including Mr. DS got sick with some sort of flu (I think flu), but when I started feeling ill, I started with the zinc and extra vitamin C, and I didn't get the way they did with body aches and fever. I usually just it out too unless I get bronchitis.

Hi all. Last day of work for me this week....tomorrow is a teacher training day so there's no school and no work.
I got the regular seasonal flu shot but not the H1N1. About 2 weeks ago I was sick with some kind of flu....stomach bug really bad....it's possible it might have been the swine flu because we've had so many kids out sick with it the past few weeks, but without being tested for it, I don't know. It kicked my butt royally, though, whatever it was. So far no one else in my house has been sick so I'm not really sure what I had. Here, you can only get the shot if you're in the high risk category.

Around here, people included in "high risk" is more than the typical, "babies, pregnant women, and people with immune disorders," but it also includes people who work in schools. So if you really want it, you should check into it, you might be able to get it.
