NO FREAKIN" WAY!! The Chiefs beat the Steelers in OT!! I would not believe it had I not actually watched it happen.
Been a busy day in Mema's world. Got 3 more batches of cookies baked and a meatloaf ready to go in the oven. On tap for tonight: 2 more batches of cookies mixed up and at least 2 pumpkin pies made. Also somewhere in here have to run a load or two of stuff over to my neighbor's new place.

Okay... dinner done and cleaned up. 2 more batches of cookies mixed up and in the fridge. Gonna put together a couple pumpkin pies and see if I can stay awake long enough for them to bake.

Hi all. I just got home from the hospital. Had to take my dad in to emergency this afternoon. I went over to his house this afternoon, and I had to let myself in....he didn't answer my knocking on the door. When I walked in, he was very confused, didn't know where he was or what day it was, said he couldn't find his phones to call me, was very congested in his chest, color wasn't right, left eye was closed and didn't open until I had him in the car on way to hospital. His oxygen levels were down in the very low 50s when I got him there. They gave him a chest x-ray and CT scan......has lots of fluid around his heart and backing up into his lungs, CT Scan is clear, but they're having a neurologist check him over tomorrow.
I'm thinking he might have had a TIA (mini-stroke) or he's not getting enough oxygen to his brain due to his heart valve being too small.
His color was coming back tonight before I left, and he was getting more coherent as the evening was going on, which is good.
So tomorrow I will be spending the day at the hospital awaiting more testing to be done on him.

Bummer. Strokes are cruel. They rob little pieces of our memory. Hey, I'm checking out. I've had a super long day. Started at 6:30am. We took a bike ride for about an hour. Awesome. A little chilly. Grilled some chops. Little fire in the chimanea. Take care all. See you here again sometime soon! thanks to JD for the tune-age.
