Here we are at that pivotal shopping time. We keep hearing that retailers are not offering the deep discounts on items as they have in past years. Most will be offering super deals on only a handful of items.
I was wondering if you do any shopping on Black Friday.
I don't usually go out. If I do, it is later in the day when the crazies have all gone home. It also is tough to do any shopping when you don't even know what you have to purchase yet. I am the sort of person that if I come across something small at any point of the year that I know someone will enjoy, I purchase it and put it away.

I am going to US Cellular for the free phone deal Friday morning. All phones are free with new contract and minimum plan size. I've been waiting for them to get a particular phone and they just got it in time for this free offer. Too good to pass up.
Other than that, I may poke around online some and see what is available at Amazon, etc.
Mrs Web has to work anyway, but we are not ones to get up at 5:00am and hit the stores.
I don't usually do any Black Friday shopping. But this year I'd like to get Brian a cheap laptop or netbook. I saw a K-Mart ad that had a netbook for $120. (It doesn't matter if it's crap, it will work for what he wants it for.) I'm hoping they'll offer that deal online too so I don't have to go out.
I don't touch that hot mess anymore. Got talked into it once when I was down in Granbury, TX having Thanksgiving with family. Up at 4AM to go a few blocks over to the Wally World just to get my arse kicked by some little old ladies who had been there since 2AM sitting on the doorbuster items.
The following year I went to Best Buy on the way to work because they made me work the day after Thanksgiving, so I was gonna be in no hurry to get there and I wanted a digital camera. 3 hours in the checkout line later... Mema recognizes her limitations. Patience for stuff like that is not a virtue she possesses.

I echo these thoughts! This stuff drives me nuts.
My time and sanity have value too, and I have yet to find a value so great that it makes up for putting up with the crowds.
Besides that from what I understand (from friends and family that do take part in Black Friday) it's all too often an occurrence that the item you wanted is sold out by the time you get to it anyway.
What phone did you get Web? I renewed my contract the 21st of NOvember. I had looked at the LG Bliss and trill but they all required the internet service. I wanted the bells and whistles with no internet. I found they were getting the Motorola CRUSH and my guy held it for me I picked it up already and its a Full screen touch. with a 16 gb expandable memory for music etc. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
