Happy second SATURDAY in three days!

At least that's what it feels like to me.

What a weird four day weather stretch here.  Last night at about 6 PM I had my doors open just a bit to let in some of that 43 degree weather.  It had rained for the last 24 hours or so.  Then the wind picked up, the temp dropped to 25.  Now this morning I wake up to a fresh coating of snow.

CrAzY.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Yeah... it snowed again here last night. Coupled with the high winds there was a lot of drifting. no.gif I hate snow.

Anyhoo... got to try to venture out of the house today. Need to go see my mom.

Hi all.  I used my Christmas money and bought the Xbox 360 Elite holiday bundle from Walmart today.  I got 2 free games and a $50 gift card to use at any time. clap.gif  I also bought the extended 2 year warranty for $20......this warranty doesn't start until AFTER the manufacturer's warranty expires, and since Microsoft extended their warranty for 3 years, this gives me a whopping total of 5 years of warranty service on the entire system.  WOOT, WOOT, WOOT!!!  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Wow! That's a good deal on the warranty Sandy.

I sure do wish you had the PS3 though, last night against Web was the first time I've ever tried the online gaming and I must say it was AWESOME.

I'd love to have had the chance to challenge you now and then. smile.gif

I know JR; I would love to play games against you and Web but I had to go with the system that we already have games for.  hmm Although I was very tempted to buy the PS3 simply because it's also a blue-ray disc player.  You should buy a 360, then we can play. winkbiggrin

I can play against Ultimo if I pick up a game that he plays. biggrin

Actually the only reason I finally broke down and got the PS3 was because of the blu-ray player.

I tend to get bored with the games and then wind up selling the system. In fact i just went through about six weeks without playing the PS3 at all. But during that time I was still popping in Blu-Ray movies now and then.

I hear you on the games though. It's frustrating to have to start over.

When I ordered the PS3 I had heard it was backward compatible with PS2 so I bought 10 games for the PS2. Of course I found out it's NOT backward compatible so now I'm stuck with 10 games I can't play.

One of these days I need to list them on ebay and unload em'.

The only PS3 that was backward compatible was the one that had the 60 gig hard drive in it......can't find those anymore unless you happen to come across one on Ebay. Sony did a dis-service to their loyal customers when they took out that feature.  The elimination of one little tiny chip made it useless for PS2 games. no

What PS2 games are you thinking of selling??  What's your asking price?

I'm not even sure Sandy, I have to dig em' out of the box. I know I bought all the GTA games other than the most recent one.

some shooter games like Hitman, some of those war games.

I can tell you more when I dig em' out. I bought em' all on half.com so I didn't pay a lot. I think I got all ten games for only about sixty bucks, so it's not like I'm out a fortune.

But it does suck that Sony cut the backward compatibility. Proves they just care about making money, not about their customers. Nothing new there I suppose.

I think that's all any of the gaming systems manufacturers care about....making money, and making it fast.  That's why the 360 had/has so many Red Ring of Death problems......Microsoft rushed it to get it out there to the public knowing that many of the consoles were going to have this problem.  Supposedly they now have it fixed for good, but I'm still hearing about people having this happen to them.....it's why I took the extended warranty.

I've also been on Sony's forum boards.  There are some people beginning to have problems with the PS3 reading game discs.  It continues to play movies, but it's not reading the games.

The only system that has never had a problem with disc read errors or faulty components is Nintendo.  They still put quality over quantity.

Man, I will be ROYALLY ticked off if my PS3 has gaming problems any sooner than 5 years in.

Hopefully the fact I play it so little will keep it from having issues anytime soon.

Hopefully you won't have any problems!  smile

Back when the PS2 was THE system to have, I bought one for my girls for Christmas.  They didn't play too much at the time because they didn't have very many games for it.  The following Christmas I bought them a bunch of games, and when they went to play them that morning, the dang system gave nothing but disc read errors.  I was beyond ticked!!  All that money spent on games and they couldn't play anything they got for Christmas.  I called Sony, they said send it in and they'd fix it free of charge.  Did that, no sooner got it back, 2 months later same problem.  I sent that system in to them 6 different times.  The last time it wouldn't read a disc, I went out and bought the slim-line PS2.  Haven't had one single problem with it since I bought it.  Oh, and if I wanted to send in my original PS2, they would still fix it for free.  Nice of them to do, but I'm sure we'd have problems with it again.

Hey JR, when you dig out the PS2 games, I'd be interested to know which ones you have and what you'd want to sell them for. Especially the GTA ones. I have Vice City, but I don't have any of the newer ones.
