family traditions

Hey!

Share with us some of your family traditions- be it an annual reunion, a recipie, or an heirloom passed on from generation to generation, or just what you and yours do for holidays, for example!

Both my family and my wife's family are a little quirky, We take the silly things and make them into an event. Since the episode on Seinfeld we have Happy Festivas every summer now with a special Festivas pole and all. We even have the Festivas Oympics (bean bag toss etc.)

We have a Cuzzinfest every summer that was started 25 years ago by all the cousins from the WWII era and is now attended by great-grandkids and extended families as well.  My dad is the oldest cousin!

Also, every Christmas brings out my Mom's anchovy pasta sauce, and she doesn't even like it.  It is a hold-over from the old Catholic tradition of having no meat before a holiday, and we always celebrated on Christmas Eve.  I hated the stuff as a kid, but now I got to have it.  I got my kids eating it as well.
