Und 80's and Jazz 101 on Hiatus

There will be a 3 week hiatus of the Sunday Night live Underground 80's and Jazz 101 programming here at the station.

This Sunday, Riggs, who engineers the shows, is spending some quality time with the family; and the next 2 Sunday Nights after that I will be at Summerfest- the first Sunday I want to go see Steve Winwood, and the Sunday after that is one of my favorite bands from the early 1990's- Living Color.

Hopefully with the servers rebuilt, we can re-air archived shows in my absence. Otherwise I will return to the studio to go live on July 16th at 7pm!

Sounds like you'll be having fun! Are these outdoor events?

yes- summerfest is outdoors at the lakefront (not far at all from where Riggs took his "perfect day" pictures. A few of the stages have overhead roofs, but its all outdoors/ open air. And unlike the big name acts that I was griping about- all but the big ampitheater shows are free to attend (well, there is a $12 admission to get into the grounds, but you can go see as many of the smaller stage acts as you like then.)

Can't wait! I love summerfest!!! 11 days of beers, babes, boogie-in!

That sounds great. There are no outdoor places like that down here. I miss Poplar Creek in IL> If they tried to do that down here, it would not work toooo hot!

JD-
I figure out how to listen on a Sunday evening on the back porch with a refreshing 7&7 and you're of having fun. When you get back I'll be in Florida. It may be August until I get to listen live.
Oh well, have a great time!!!

There should be repeats Ray. And I most likely will be tuning into the station tomorrow night if there is to hear myself (and appropriately cringe!) cuz that's always weird to hear the show as the listeners do. If I do I will have a 7-7 ready in hand, if not, until August!

It's people like Ray who the show is geared for- out on the porch, sunday evening, listening to jazz with a drink in hand! AMEN!!!! Makes it all worth while!!

Sadly the reruns tomorrow will depend on what time I return home from my trip with my father and if I'm actually awake to put them on the air :)

Hopefully though everything will go as scheduled.

Oh- also- I still plan on having the Gene Harris tribute night on Jazz 101 and the Soul Asylum tribute during the next Und 80's when I return!

Sunday Nights on Freeze Frame Radio. Bring your mowhawk and anarchist cookbook with you at 7 pm, be ready to switch over to your berrets and beatnik poetry book at 8 pm.

Unconventional? Yes.

Uncanny? Yes.

A weird combination? Yes.

A whole lot of listening fun? YES!

Oh and Ray and I would like to remind you that 7-7's taste good during either show!
