BASEBALL THREAD: Future Of The Brew Crew

Ok,

I gotta admit it, the crew is starting to get me excited a little.

I'm trying not to let myself get to happy, because I know they're just setting me up to break my heart, but tonights game was AWESOME.

The future of our team played a major role. Rickie Weeks hit a triple and his first homer. Prince Fielder hit his first homer and it was a HUGE 3 run shot that put us ahead by two and wound up being the deciding factor.

Bill Hall has emerged as a power-hitting, high average second/short-stop/third baseman.

Carlos Lee continued his league-leading RBI barrage with 2 more on a bases loaded double.

With another aquisition or two this off season we may finally be ready to be compete for the division next year.

BETTER YET, we have our best pitching staff in probably 20 years right now!

SOMECHICK? JD? DYLAN? What say you guys? Are you seeing some light at the end of this never ending tunnel?

Prince Fielder made me smile. He smashed that ball, and he looks to be as big as later-career babe ruth! I bet Chicago KNOWS the mistake they made in letting Lee come to Milwaukee. We are getting solid performance. This is exciting ball.

The thing about this club that is frustrating is that when they get runners in scoring position, even with one out...the runner generally is left on base.

There is no substitute for talent.  I like the potential these young guns are bringing to the club. Now, if they can be insulated from a losing club house atmosphere that has permeated Milwaukee baseball since 1992, then maybe they can help shake Milwaukee out of its baseball funk.

I have alot of faith in Doug Melvin and Gord Ashe and Ned Yost.  I think Dean Taylor laid some of the groundwork also.  Hopefully we are seeing a renaissance of Brewer baseball in its early stages.  The next couple years will be interesting.

I am happy the Selig crew is out of there. I think Anistasio wants to play with the big boys. He's going to have to bring the deep pockets to even retain what we have!

The Seligs did bring baseball back to Milwaukee, so for that I am greatful.

But it was the right time for a new ownership group

Yes I agree- thank you Bud for even bringing ball back in the first place- I think he sort of absolved himself from the dynamics of running the team even before becoming commisioner- but he did so to a couple of incompetents- Sal Bando. Bad Player, worse GM, and C'mon Wendy & Laurel. Did they EVEN LIKE THE GAME!?!? I am so happy for Anistasio. He did his work, he made a lot of money, here is his level of toy- a big-league baseball team. GO FOR IT! MAKE THE "SMALL MARKET" TEAMS A CONTENDER!!!!

Bando was a pretty decent palyer, and a good business man.  But has a terrible GM.  Letting Molitor go was a sign he hated to see todays player make more money than his era did.

Wendy loved the game, she just was not a capable ceo.  She also thought the Milwaukee fans were sheep, coming to the park no matter how bad the teams were...and there were several 100 loss seasons.

The first winner this team has under aNNASTASIO WILL PUT 3 MILLION FANS IN THE SEATS...GUARANTEED
