Aw, you know I love ya JR!!  If I didn't, I wouldn't be throwing you under the bus.....I'd tie you up in a chair to the top of the bus so everybody could see your humiliation.

We enjoy playing video games with violence and crime. (Probably because it's something we would never even think of in real life.)

we talk on cell phones everywhere, because we cannot stand to be alone. as if thats some sort of vulnerability.'

and on these cell phones, hold eachother hostage to the innane, stealing time away from people.

I think that's just it MZ.

There's something fun about living out your dark side on a video game. I guess as long as it stays there it's not a bad thing. But I can see how if a teenager is impressionable it could be bad for them to play the game.

When I'm driving around on GTA I LOVE to smash into cars and hit pedestrians. Sometimes I actually laugh out loud when some poor old lady is crossing the street and I plow her over at 90 MPH.

BUT, I've been driving around town and had flashes where I think "OH! There's someone crossing the street up there!" hmm.gif

And because we HAVE a cell phone we MUST be available 24/7.  If someone calls you on your cell phone and you don't answer they're offended because they "know" your phone is always with you, so why didn't you take their call?

I must be one of the weird ones because I have a cell phone (Trac Phone) but I never carry it with me and seldom use it.  It's always in a drawer in the kitchen. no

we are terrible people because we check the shoes of the people at intersections with signs that say "will work for food" and their shoes are like $300 shoes. and we don't feel bad about driving on. and the one day I bought a loaf of wonderbread to throw at the head of 1 guy as I drove by, but he didnt pick it up? makes him a terrible people, not me. He didnt even have to WORK for it.

I was never going to be one of "those people" that has to have their cell phone with them at all times... but I have become exactly that. In my case, it is actually a requirement of my job. This condition has been compounded by the fact that my present employer frowns upon personal usage on the company liable phone, so I now have 2 phones... and I have to carry them both because EVERYBODY has what is now my personal number, but my new CL phone is what goes out on all of my business communications and is in the company directory. DOH!!!

I'll have to start looking at their shoes. I've spent too much time in DC... I look to see if a homeless person has a Blackberry. You would be astounded at how many "homeless" people around there have jobs making pretty good money.

We turn on the windshield wipers and run the washer instead of scraping the ice off or warming up the car.

Likewise, we shower fame and fortune on entertainers, but the police, firefighters, EMS, and military, people who put their lives on the line every day and make actual and significant contributions to society, often struggle for support.

I think you mean because we have Keith Olberman and Rachel Madcow, er, Maddow!

We have people like those in general.  And we cheer for the ones we like.  Poeple like these, on both sides of the political fence, serve only to polarize all topics and profit from doing so, and in turn contribute to our inability to see each others sides and compromise on important topics that could benefit everyone.

Which leads to another reason we are terrible - we often (sometimes always) only think of and look out for ourselves.

I hate being guilty of these sins.  I am trying though - I stopped watching Olberman and Maddow.  I wish Keith would just go back to ESPN!
