If you read my thread about it a month ago and tuned in for their 2 hour premiere that Sunday and the 1 hour regular episode the next day. I have to tell you, THAT WAS NOT TYPICAL CHUCK!
I think they ended last season with the assumption they were going off the air so they kind of blew the show up and left everything in tatters.
I got the feeling that to start this season they need to fix everything they broke and as a result those first three hours were out of place, messy and not very interesting. I was honestly worried the show I've grown to love the last two years was never going to be the same.
BUT, the last three Mondays the show has returned to the cool vibe it had the previous two years.
So if you tried it and hated it that first weekend I implore you to give it another week or two. It's funny, it's entertaining, it's dramatic and it's romantic.
It's a really cool show about an average (but smart) nerd that works at the Buy More (Best Buy) in the Nerd Herd (Geek Squad) division.
He dropped out of Stanford but his buddy who had become a spy for the CIA sent him an email moments before he died after being shot.
When Chuck opened the email a secret government program called the intersect was downloaded into Chucks head, making him a human super-computer with knowledge of all things spy. Now when a bad dude walks by, or he see's something related to bad dudes, he "flashes" and all the information relating to that person or item is in his head.
He's got two CIA handlers who's job it is to keep him safe, while using him to capture bad guys.
Casey (Adam Baldwin) is great as a Reagan loving tough guy that tries to never show any emotions. Sarah Walker is the hot CIA agent that's kind of fallen for Chuck, but can't do anything about it because she's in the CIA.
The first two seasons Chuck was mostly a screw-up, but this season he's got an update to the intersect that will give him skills he needs (thought they say he'll still screw up a lot).
There's a lot of cool subplots at the Buy More too, and the characters there are EXCELLENT. A real group of fun misfits that are always getting into trouble. They're all completely unaware that Chuck has this other life as a spy.
It's really just an awesome cast and a fun show with a real 80's angle to it.
You know what Sandy, I'll go on record. I AM addicted to you guys.
You're all a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
When I'm away from the computer I'm not thinking "Oh my God, I have to get back to the computer" but you all add fun to the mundane times when I'm just sitting home watching TV or doing laundry or whatever, and that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Seems to me addiction would be more along the lines of when you have some bizarre need to keep going back to a place where you've alienated everyone and nobody wants to talk to you.
On that I definitely agree with you. I'll even say I'm addicted to all of you guys too. I love spending time here, hanging out with everybody when I've got nothing else going on. My family knows I come here....no problem whatsoever with that. I'm not ashamed of whatever amount of time I spend here. It's quality time well spent with all of my friends.
I also agree with you about continually going back somewhere where you've alienated everyone. That to me is an addiction.....or OCD.....Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

It's actually funny because I talk to my friends, family and co-workers about you guys all the time.
But I'll call you by your user name so I'll say "I was talking to my friend Ghost and she said". If it's not someone close to me that's gotten to know all your nicknames the person will get a confused look and I'll have to correct myself, "Oh, I mean Sandy from the forum".
I would think severe paranoia! A paranoid person always has to be wondering what people are saying behind their back, what other people are thinking of them, always wondering why no one likes them....all kinds of awful things. I think I'd rather have an addiction than suffer from severe paranoia!!
