RE: Where's Waldo?

Things were different in the 70's.

I dressed like a hippie in the 70s.  Love beads, tie-dye shirts, hip-hugger bell bottom jeans, leather headbands, suede purse, and suede jacket with fringe on it. My parents hated it. giggle.gif

That's just it!  All the stuff I wore is now right back in style.  Guess what they say is true....if you hang on to things, eventually it'll come back in style.

Nah, both of my kids say I'm too old to dress that way.  And I agree.  A few months ago I went shopping with them and just for the heck of it tried on a pair of those low-riding jeans.  I didn't like the feeling and knew if I bent over everybody would see way more of Ghost than they wanted to. laughing.gif

Wow, that is quite a picture Web!  I am not the fashion expert, so I can;t comment on the clothing - my 5-yr-old daughter was a better dresser than me by age 3!

I have an excuse though.

In school I was half nerd/half athlete, so I never knew what to wear.  In college of course you always wear jeans and other slacker clothes.  I went to grad school in Forida, so of course I wore shorts year-round.  I then got married just before finishing grad school, so my wife took over dressing me.  As a result, I never learned to dress myself..... :)

Case in point, it's the middle of winter but I'm wearing a short sleeve dress polo shirt at work today....

I'm not sure what's more concerning to me. The fact that the first kid actually wore those pants, or the fact that they managed to sell a second pair to that kid in the back row. weirdface.gif

I saw that too. I was wondering, "Are they wearing the same pants?"

Well, if there was only one little school, I would imagine there wouldn't be a whole lotta clothing stores to choose from either!

The tall kid with the bowtie is "Michael". Later, when Michael went to town school, his name became "Toad".

Michael still lives with his mom on the same ranch where he grew up, about four miles from that school. His dad died a few years ago. Michael is heavily into guns. He has hundreds of trophies that he has won at shooting competitions. Now, I wonder if all those years of getting called "Toad" had anything to do with Michael getting into guns?

Yay!  I was guessing Row 1, seat 1 too.

Did anybody else ever have their bell bottoms get stuck in the chain of their bicycle?

I'm proud to say I never wore bell bottoms.  It's the one fashion trend my parents didn't follow fortunately.

I'm young enough to have skipped bell bottoms and started on tight rolled jeans. Those didn't get stuck in the bike.

I did, but because I had a 10 speed it was easier to get them unstuck than if it would've been if it were a regular bike; just had to hit the little thingy that hung down below the sprocket to release the chain.

Hey TG, did you have the really wide bells that were called elephant ears??  Those were all the rage when I was in my early & mid-teens.

I don't remember wearing those, but... I do remember my mom ripping the lower portion of my brother's Levis and inserting a panel so that it created a contrasting flair.  I thought those were soooo cool!

Wow - serious flashback!  I probably could've gone the rest of my life not remembering that release thingy.
