Just Wanted To Give You Guys A Heads Up

I just checked my email and had a strange message in it.  It was in my inbox, not junk mail.  It was from Active Board, and it was a Welcome New Member message to Robby's new forum that he had a link to on his site last night.  In this message there was a link to click on, which I didn't do.  I deleted the message and am currently running a virus scan, just in case.

I never requested to join this forum!  And I never clicked on the link last night that was in a thread on his Shania forum. 

Anyway, not sure what's going on, not sure if message from Active Board was real or a hoax, and I have no idea how I would receive a Welcome New Member message to something I did not join.  Knowing Robby I wouldn't put it past him to try some hacker crap or use my screen name and set up a phony account under it. 

Just wanted to give you guys a head's up, and I'm wondering if anyone else has received something like this.

If you used your email address to sign up for his forum the first time, he probably got your email then and saved it so he could screw with you later.

I think he got mine from when I had joined his Shania forum back before we knew the real Robby. hmm Luckily, that email address is not the main email account that I use; it's one specifically for sites that require registration of some type.  But I do check it because it's also the email account I use for my daughter's teachers to reach me at.

I got one too Ghost.

I'm thinking he's hoping we'd follow it so he could get our IP. Once we deleted our accounts he has no access to our IP's.

He mentioned that he was no longer letting banned IP's view his board, but he can't ban us if we don't log on and provide our IP.

I wouldn't worry too much about the "hacking" part, Ghost. Don't follow links in emails and you'll be ok.

He thinks he's an internet genius just because he knows what proxy server is and how to trace an IP. If he really wants to get into a hacking contest, I'm up for a game. smile.gif

I checked my private e-mail account and didn't see anything like that. Honestly that is part of why I never looked at any of his links... got a weird vibe from him right off when he started making up those imaginary dinner parties and conversations.

I don't believe Bob is smart enough to put a virus in a email.My guess is he wanted you to go to his site so he could tell you how evil i am and how I will destroy this site.He is a drama queen.Just like we were going to attack his site last night LOL.I was reading over at his site and he say's you are all bored.My guess is that Bob came to this site wanting to be a member right?But its all of us that are bored,that's bobby logic huh.

I looked at the ActiveBoard home page... says you have to mail or fax in your complaints where it involves legal issues like abuse. E-mails go to their tech support who can't help.
