Like I said in another thread.  We're an 80's station!  We should not have a 70's day!  It's like the Blue Man Group wearing red!  It's like Brittney Spears becoming a nun!  I have no problem with 70's music, but that's just not who we are!

Ruby, I agree to a point.  At least on the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears issue.  But I think some 70's, 90's and new music is good to add to the mix as long as we still play more 80's.  I like hearing Zeppelin and the Doors mixed in with my 80's.  I like the Metal Ballad and New Wave theme days, because they are still 80s music.  But I still say a 70's themed day on an 80's station is wrong!

We have struck a nerve with the 70's haven't we? Hey, I'm for playing everything. I like the mix FFR has to offer. I like the themes because we get so many interesting posts. I feel like I'm in Ghostbusters, I can hear you saying don't cross the streams. Why? Cause it would be bad, very ,very bad.

Like I said, I don't mind music from the 70's.  In fact, at home I probably listen to more 70's music than 80's.  I think it's fine for us to play 70's music in the mix.  But, I just think a 70's themed day on an 80's station is silly.

well that was the original vision of the station. Remembering the good old 80's when life was simpler, music on cd was king, and all you had to do was wear the right clothes at school and at the mall to be cool.


But in the past year, as a part of natural growth, the format has grown so much, that it includes every type of music. And crite if it isn't the unspoken mission of the station to be all things to all people. 6000+ songs that pretty much capture a nice portion of each genre of music. (But not opera- like the station id ad says tho- we are always threatening to pull out the opera to keep you in line!)


Clearly the sky is the limit. And with us continually adding new songs to the library and to the request list, we are rivaling any and all stations- broadcast or internet- in the fact that we have so much more to offer, and that you, the listener, get to pick the songs FOR FREE MIGHT I ADD!!


Freeze Frame Radio! Sure we need duct-tape and band-aids, but we are the fore-runners of internet radio democracy! ,'scuse me, while I duct some wires!
