Good morning, everybody. Its been a rough couple weeks at the work place, so I'm very happy that today is a WFH day for me.
I'm watching the news this morning and someone is interviewing Adrian Fenty, Mayor of Washington, D.C. In the background, they are showing scenes from the city with all of the snow and the snow plows... also showed one person doing something I was joking about yesterday: Cross country skiing through the city. Late yesterday afternoon some of us were discussing ways to handle the call spikes to the airlines... I suggested routing a percentage of the calls to an announcement saying "It is a blizzard, people. If you would like to get out of New York, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Maryland, we might suggest you check into a dog sled, snow shoes, or cross country skis. The only thing flying is the snow!!" Obviously, this was voted down.

I saw on the news last night, they asked a guy why he was jogging down the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue. He said "Because I can" (due to the lack of traffic). It looks really bad out there.
Meanwhile, business as usual here. My shoulder is still grinding, popping, and hurting. Stoopid old age.
I can see doing that just so you know that you did. I probably would. It just cracked me up that the news showed someone ACTUALLY doing something I was joking about.

Good morning all. The sun is shining right now and bouncing off all the whiteness on the ground. I might need to get my sunglasses out of the car just to look out the windows. It is kind of pretty though; the snow is sparkling like millions of diamonds were thrown on the ground.
Got in at noon today. Our driveway is oriented perfectly to capture the drifting snow, so I had another 2 feet drifted onto most of it this am. Took another 2 hours to dig/snowblow it out. Thanks for the snow, I'm ready for spring now!
Ghost is of the opinion the snow looks like a million diamonds. Murscclub is ready for spring. I just finished shoveling out my drive by hand with nothing but a shovel. I believe I am ready for spring too. You dont have to shovel rain or sunshine.
Afternoon all. Had to dig out first. I rolled into the office at 1pm. Spent three hours messing with the snow. And not even in a good way. Two storms, over three feet of snow in five days. Yeah, I have had enough. But at least I am here. Since all of the accounting department was here I figured I ought to get in too. I am prettry sure tax day will arrive before this snow melts.
Id anyone neds any, Murs and I have discounted rates and will ship it to you.

Wasn't easy. This snow way a heavy, wet one. I thought we had about 19-20". Both neighbors seems to think it was closer to two feet. I dunno. I do know it was a lot to move. Guess I really should think about purchasing a snowblower. The small electric snow thrower that I have can't handle more than six inches. That way it will ensure that we don't get this much snow for the next ten years.

If it works, I will invest in one. However, something makes me think that there won't bee too many leftovers that Lowe's or Home Depot will be trying to clear out this year. ALways good to buy larger ticket items like that at the end of the season. I like a good clearance deal.

Yeah, I know... alas the airlines are booked with all the nimrods who were calling the airlines yesterday. Believe me... they are still calling in droves today.
