Well sort of. I'm editing a Casey Kasem countdown from February 1978. My Saturday and Sunday tradition of late. Tape em', edit em' and save em'.
I wish I could play this stuff on the air. It's really cool to hear some of these old countdowns. But you can find them on other online stations if you're interested. I find it a fun way to start my Sunday, with a stroll down memory lane while I clean the apartment.
Anyway, back to work for me tonight. I have about 9 more hours of freedom! I hope everyone has a great day. I'll be around tonight to record JD's shows if he does em'.
I've got about 15 of the 80's countdowns recorded now and about 10 of the 70's ones.
I've also been recording BACKTRAX USA when I get a chance (the 80's version)
It's been so cool to hear Casey Kasem again. I know I probably was listening to most of those 80's ones in my room on Sunday nights when I was a kid. A couple weeks ago he introduced the first chart single from a young man who'd already charted multiple times with his family band the Jackson Five. It's Michael Jackson. Too cool!
The satellite radio company plays the original 70's countdowns A LOT on their 70's station, but they replaced the 80's countdowns with new ones featuring the old VH-1 DJ's.
Too bad. If they were airing the original Casey Kasems I would have signed up just for that.
Good day, all. Not a lot going on around here. Got some ice and snow earlier today, but the roads aren't too bad right now.
Having dinner with the BFF in about a half hour. I haven't actually spent any time hanging out with him lately so it should be fun. I told him I have been watching Olympic curling... so now he's hooked on it too. The power of suggestion is an amazing thing. I'm sure I will hear all about being a horrible influence since he should be spending his time studying. Ah well...
