Favorite Fast Food Restaurant

HEY!

Heralded for their convenience, chided for their fat an calories, fast-food is a quick convenient alternative to packing a lunch during the work week. For some, fast-food is a regular dinner.

SO!

What is your favorite fast-food chain, and what food item makes it your favorite!? Or if you can't pick one, what is your favorite item from the chains?

For me- if time & calories allowed, I could go for a meal of a wendy's 99 cent side salad (better than most at 2 or 3 times the cost), McDonald's fries (food of the Gods), a jamoca shake from Hardees, and the chicken tenders with a bisquit and coleslaw from KFC!

I've been trying to ween myself off of fast food. I would have to say Quizno's is my current favorite. I like Subway too, healthier choices. But the Mushroom & Swiss from Hardees is mmmm mmmm good!
However, if it's 2am and I'm out, which is very rare anymore, I have to stop at White Castle for that late night snack.

Quizno's is good!  I like the BLT there.

Wendy's is good, too.  Like their spicey chicken sandwich.

my favorite fries are - BK.  When they improved their fries I was on board w/ that.

I also really like Taco Bell - It's cheap and quick and I like to "think outside the bun"

I would have to say KFC, but we only really have KFC, McDon's and Burger King!

I don't really got to fast food joints that often anyway but KFC would be my fav.

My favorite is "Runza". I just recently realized that Runza is only a regional thing. We don't have a Runza here, but the next biggest town has one so I get my Runza fix every few weeks.

Penn Station.  If I need faster than that and a drive through, I usually do Wendy's nuggets, a baked potato, and a small frosty (count it up, that's $3!!!).  Or, Arby's chicken salad sandwich, or if I'm in the mood for cheese, beef and cheddar.

I agree on the 99 cent items. For $3 you can get a 1/2 way decent meal.

It depends what I am craving. But it is either a ceasar side salad with an order of nuggets cut up on top from Wendy's or a plain Mcchicken and fries from McDonald's. You have to love the dollar menu. It also makes it easy for calculating the tax so you have exact change in the drive-thru.

Used to be McD's.  I loved the double quarter pounder with cheese.  But needed to lose weight so I changed--my only fast food now is a 6" turkey sub with just lettuce and pickle maybe green pepper if it looks fresh.  Subway.

MZ, I like the Arby's chicken salad sandwich too...

I think my favorite would be Sonic if there was one around here....  it is quite evil - TBS and TNT and some other channels always show Sonic Commercials.....   There are none in the north east... none..... they are so far away it would be an overnight trip!   (so of course I have never had sonic and I know the TV lies, but I want it anyway.

Since I was a McManager, I avoid McDonald’s for the most part... although my boyfriend got me that walnut apple salad recently and it was quite good, but the nuts make it high in fat and calories.

Where I work is a fast food Mecca.   Within a 5 minute drive we have a BK, MCD’s, Wendy’s, Arby’s, TacoBell, Subway, Blimpie, Quizno’s, and a Duchess, as well as 3 hotdog/catering trucks  it is really bad….   It is way too easy to be lazy and get fat (er) around here.

I have been very good.  I have brought my lunch for the last 2 days.   (turkey pita with baby carrots is my standby)

It bothers me that the chains make america, heck the whole civilized world, one big strip mall.

Duchess is a confused fast food chain...   They are supposed to be up-scale (sort of) if you eat inside they give you a ticket and you sit down and they bring you food.

But they still have a drive through.

Their menu is also confused you can get spaghetti dinner or shrimp or lobster rolls, but they also have hamburgers and fries and a dancing 99 cent hot dog dancing outside when it goes on sale.

They do not have a dollar menu though and are a bit more expensive than normal chains.

Décor is definitely dated....  wood and plastic plants....

not my favorite

oh, and their commercials center around the duchess herself.... prim and proper...

duchess is supposed to always be fresh made.   they used to be the best place to go for salads, but now wendy's and mcworld kick their butt.

For off beat, you got'ta go with all the little greasy corner dog joints in Chicago.  For under $3.00 you can get a dog & fries with everything and it's more than you can eat in one sitting....but I usually do.

Wendy's used to have the best salad bars...no place was I would consider a good salad with califlower, broccoli etc...

Interesting side note...

My mom cracked me up the other day...I was giving her a ride and we passed a Wendy's when she asks me...

You can't swing a dead Sparky without hitting a gyro stand in Chicago.  You have to tell them "Easy on the onions!" or all you get is a pile of tear fruit.

Something up here WFFR- Gyros Corner right by my house. I had one of their gyros to go a few weeks ago- it had been probably 7 yrs since I was in the place- and I got it home and the whole place smelt like onions for 2 days! I even took the garbage out that night- there were no onions in the house, but yea, 2 days of that smell!

Does anyone else have Cousin's Submarine Sandwhich shops around them? I used to live off of their cheesesteaks in my early 20's. I could never tire of those sandwhiches!

speaking of smells.  Ever notice the smell in Subway?  You leave and your clothes have that smell.

I remember Cousins from Milwaukee.  They have really good bread and I like that they give you fries.

Down here we have something like Miami's best subs - which isn't that good.  This place isn't know for it's food.

not exactly.  kind of like the bread and veggies - it's hard to explain but it's unique to Subway.
