National Hangover Thursday

Good morning, all. Today is the great hangover day for the St. Paddy's Day revellers... cept for me. It is the day that has me looking at all my aching, bleary eyed friiends wondering, "How does my Irish arse ALWAYS end up with on-call  on St. Patrick's Day?!?!?" Ah well...

Its supposed to be a nice day here... sunny and 63*. This will be a brief interlude of pleasant before thunderstorms tomorrow and possible snow on Saturday... then back to the 40's.

Good day all.

I didn't drink last night, and I went to bed on time, but I'm feeling pretty rough this morning. And I felt like I slept hard last night, which is better than I've slept in at least a few days. But I feel like I could use a couple more hours.

It's supposed to be nice here too, 65 and sunny, and similar through Saturday. But then it's supposed to cool down here too. No one's said the 4 letter S word here yet though.

Morning. I too was not out last night. And I am having a hard time settling into sleep time this week. Oh well, we are getting close to sleep in day.

The sun is out.

Work on.

Howdy.

No hangover for me. smile.gif

We are under a winter weather advisory starting this evening until about noon tomorrow. They are saying we can have 2-5" of blowing snow.

I slept really good last night. Mrs Web has a bad cold/flu thing going on, and she decided to sleep on the couch so she could prop her head up more. I usually don't sleep good when she's not there, but last night was an exception.

I thought I'd better cycle my new laptop battery, so I'm running it off battery power this morning. Its dropping fast. I'm down to 50% already. It should get better after a few full drain/recharge cycles. It's not a big deal anyway, I don't need to run it off the battery for long periods of time.

Hi all.  Another nice day here too but that's supposed to change on Saturday.

I'm still trying to beat back this depression and feelings of isolation but I'm not having much luck with it.  I could really do with a good, long vent session but I can't make myself put it out here on the board.  Let's just say that I'm feeling a lot of anger, resentment, hatred, and loathing.  I've been tossing around the idea of moving up to the cabin for the entire summer once my youngest girl is out of school in June.  I'd like my oldest girl to come with me but she has a job and it's too far for her to commute every day.  I'm not crazy about leaving her here if I do this, but I don't know what else to do.  I need a change and I need it badly. hmm

I thought yo were coming to my house for a week. I still need someone to paint. And you can go into the city and do all the touristy/history things. And, of course, Valley Forge. Maybe you can stay in one of those cabins.

Fuzzy, smile.  I'd like to do that, but I really think I need time away from all distractions so I can think, get my head on straight, consider my options, and then choose one.

Well, a mini vacation is a distraction. But are you sure you can't do your thinking while painting my downstairs? wink.gif

Sandy, with the little things you've said, I know you've been struggling with that for quite some time. Those kinds of decisions are tough ones to make. Maybe some time alone to think would be good for you.

We had an area phone scam going on. My wife and I both got calls on our cell phones (twice each) and at home and here at the office on the landline phones. The first time, it said our debit cards had been deactivated due to security issues and we needed to press 1 to talk to a representative to reactivate it. The next time, it said that our "Nebraska State Bank debit cards ..."

We do have a Nebraska State Bank here. Its a small bank with two branches within 20 miles here. So, it was a very targeted attack.

They were auto dialing because my wife any my cell numbers are sequential. When I got the call, I had just hung up on it then her cell rang a few seconds later. The bank in question even got calls telling them that their own debit cards were deactivated.

They had a story in the paper about it today and it said that so far, they know it has cost the bank $5,000 as they figure about 100 people fell for it gave out their card info. no.gif

The FBI is investigating and all they have released so far is that they think the attack came from outside the US. hmm.gif

I don't know why people don't think first. If it is an automated call, take the information and then call the bank to speak to a real person.

That's what most people did. The poor bank employees were having to deal with all the customers that did call in to verify that it was just a fraud.

I am sure it was exhausting for them. Repeating themselves over and over.
