Aw man, I go to a meeting and come back to this news!  no

I'd be willing to pitch in for the costs, in fact I was thinking of askign you about that, but I don;t know how much it would be and if enough people would be willing to do that as well...

Heavy bummer... but yes, I totally understand. Its got to be a heavy expense.

I'm sticking with the forum. I'd miss you guys too much. Its been working my nerves badly these last several days where I haven't been able to check in as much. Working on that.

I felt the worst about dropping this on you Mursc!   You just commented in the question thread about how much you like the lack of commercials on FFR.

Thanks for the offer of helping, but we tried that for awhile and eventually it just wasn't working out.  We don't have enough listeners to make it work anymore.

You might really want to try a Pandora or something like that.  They're commercial free too.

Commercial free is one of my favorite aspects too. I might have to check out Pandora. I have a Blip account, but only use it occassionally. Its a lot too interactive for me to do on a daily basis.

I really hate to hear this. Unfornately, they are getting so strict at work about radio use that I have not been able to tune in that much. But...when I do, I have always truly enjoed it. Thank you - to each of you for putting in such hard work to keep it going this long. I hope to keep in touch with all of you.

I've never tried Pandora, but I just went over there now and on the surface it looks pretty neat.  It'll never be FFR, but it looks like it's not blocked here at work, so I'll have to try it on April 22.

I believe that Pandora is only free for 40 hours a month.

Good point Fuzzy. I've never listened to it enough to reach the limit. I guess I'll use up my 40 then switch to something else.

We should figure out a way to send the station out with a bang.  It shouldn't be allowed to die on a fizzle.  smile

Even though I don't get to tune in often (damn boss said no streaming in the office anymore!) I still enjoy tuning in every now and then so I will miss those opportunities. It's nice that many of us continue to communicate via Facebook (and other social media) AND that Jeremy is gonna keep the forum going......

Glad I found FFR in the first place.....

This is like putting an animal down.
JD, if you would be so kind, could I crash for half an hour on the 18th. Just a visit. FFR really is an interesting concept. I always thought it's cool that you can request and listen to others request. Sure, sometimes they weren't what I'd care for but, hey that the music biz!
Pandora and places like that are a bit too cleansed of personality. I want something a bit more challenging.

hey squonk, I think in more ideal situations I'd say yea, but yea, these last few weeks I just need to shut her down in my own mind as well as here. Plus just found out Easter is April 4th and I won't be here then. I am sure you understand.

I'm so sad.  I love this station and my FFR friends.

I still think an FFR reunion should be introduced.  I would be glad to host it here in Nashville, but... would travel to Milwaukee as well.

We could rent a party bus, tour the neighborhoods we hear JR and JD talking about, visit the icebox station, check out his microphone and desk, then head over to JD's where the steaks would be grilling and beer already on ice. The next day we could head to the casino for a couple of hours then finish the afternoon off with a Brewers game.

I'd go to Nashville or Milwaukee, Nashville's only about a 1/2 hour closer. But I don't know if that would be feasible for a lot of members.

Very sad news, but I totally understand why it has come to this, I guess internet music services has changed so much over the past few years, I am glad the forum will continue though, I will make an extra effort to actually be here more often! smile

I hate that it has to end.  Thank you, JR, for sharing your great library of music with us, and making it possible for all of us to get together and be family.  I hope after the tunes stop, everyone stays with the fourm.

This makes me sad, I met so many wonderful people here and wish it would never end but like Studio 54 all good things must come to an end.

If you could read my mind i am crying right now. no

I will definately be here the last day.  I still have the CD JR made for me of my all time top 10 for my Birthday biggrin
