Despite all of the quality acts on the side stages, i was only able to make it to 1 day due to other committments.  I went this past Friday and saw the incomperable Isaac Hayes, aka Chef.  It was so strange because at most, if not all stages, everyone's standing around on tables and stuff, acting all crazy.  The crowd at Isaac Hayes was subdued, all sitting down, really mellow.  It was just the craziest thing.  After a half hour and only 3 songs, I figured it was time to walk on and attempt to see someone else.

Phil Vassar, a relatively popular country singer, was on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage next door.  I enjoy Phil Vassar alot, more for his piano skills and the fact his writes almost all of his own music.  The crowd was your standard hillbilly crowd, which I love.  But I couldn't hear or see him.  Not hot.

I didn't shell out the 10 bucks for a martini, but did take in some fine Lakefront beer. All in all a great night.  I wish I would have had more time to go another day, but oh well.

I assume that was probably "the closer", but we didn't stay for it. After the 1st 10 minute song, I knew it would be a while before we heard Shaft.

But I do love that song.  Right on.

I loved and hated summerfest, mostly because I always had to work--and loved it because of the stars I met and backstage passes they gave out.

Who'd you all meet, CP?

I once saw Dolly Parton getting off her bus and walking into the Park East.

Pointer Sisters, Hall and Oates, Corey Hart--he was very cool--Belinda Carlisle, Manhattan Transfer, Sherry Lewis,  We also housed a lot of people that were at the PAC.  Richard Harris was most annoying--but never knew he would be Dumbledore or I would have paid more attention.  My favorite was when the Dancers from 42nd Street stayed there.  I watched every performance thanks to the generosity of one of the dancers.  I had such a crush on her.  And before you ask, yes.
