Good day, all. Yup... it's Tuesday. Feels like the 22nd Tuesday of this week. Ah well... it will get radically busier soon. Very soon.
Woo... I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Fuzzy... I'm of the opinion that it is never too early to start throwing things. A little well placed destructiveness prior to anyone else showing up at the office just sets the stage. AND it gives you at least a 5 second grace period where a potential target is standing there surveying the mayhem wondering, "UH-OH! What is going on here?" in which you can get in a solid head shot.
Happy Birthday, DS's momma!!!

I actually wonder why I bothered to pick up my piles from the floor. It is not like anyone was here to see them. (After we moved here and got new furniture, there isn't much desk space.) I actually had four piles going on. I picked up everything before I left last night. But threw some back on the floor this morning. I did get rid of some, however, others have formed. It is almost like the papers are multiplying on their own while down there. I am down to only two piles so that is better.

Stop trying to be what you see. Be what you ought to be.
It didn't help when another bank in town called (twice now) to offer her a job. She's frustrated because she has promised some customers she'd stay there with them as long as she could. She wants to flee, but doesn't want to break her word to the customers that are staying there with her.
It's been a long time since she's had a good day. This mess is growing and compounding daily. Two years ago, the stock was bouncing around $30.00. For the last few weeks, it's been around $0.32 (yes, 32 cents - less than a postage stamp). Today it has rallied up to $0.56.
Many of the customers probably would follow her, and frankly, I think that is part of the reason the other bank wants her so badly. She's stuck though. It would be unethical to call people and say "hey, I'm going down the street to the other bank, I'll meet ya there". But, if she leaves without talking to them, they will still feel like she bailed on them.
Aww, man. Poor Mrs. Web. That is a tough spot to be in. Maybe THIS is "as long as she could". Probably most would understand her need to move forward...

Yes, it would be unethical to ask people to follow her.
But if she told these loyal customers she had a better job offer and has decided she needs to take it, if they're customers she actually cares about, chances are they would understand.
And even if they asked where, and she told them she didn't feel like she could morally tell them that while she was still working for this bank, they'll still find out and follow her. Heck, that happens in Bloomington, and we're probably 4x the size of your town, if not more.
There is also that unknown factor of what will happen in the end. It's almost 100% that the bank will be sold (or taken over) to another bank. It could happen that the buyer would be even better and offer her more opportunities than she's ever had before.
There is also talk of local investors trying to buy just this branch and taking it over. If that happens (doubtful that they would sell off one branch), she'd like to stay there and we would probably even try to get in on a small part of the ownership.
Oh yeah (Mz), everyone would know where she went very soon. With the gossip in a town like this, you hear about what you've done before you even do it. The rumors that have gotten back to us have almost been funny at times.
Does she still work for the one lady who's more concerned about what people are wearing than about business?
Yeah, that lady is actually the senior in charge now, but she's a mess too. She has worshiped that company for almost 30 years and it is crumbling around her. She was third, but the top two have left now leaving her "in charge". They have neighboring branch presidents "on call" for this branch if they are needed.
Man, it sucks being the one left holding the bag when a company goes down like that. I feel for Mrs. Web.
Rumor mills are amazingly entertaining things if you don't take them seriously. I've heard so much garbage around our office that doesn't even remotely approach truth. Sometimes for fun the guys and I start random rumors just to see what happens.

My dad used to do that when he worked at the B-D plant here too. He and a couple friends would start a rumor one night, then see how much it had changed after it had gone through two other shifts and gotten back to them the next night.
