Alright along Jeremy's question about finding money, have you ever won anything?


I won a nights stay at a Holiday Inn in downtown Charleston. (The room was $250 a night.) It also included our dinner and breakfast. Then they messed up our order, so our drinks were on the house too!


Last month I won a dinner cruise. It is for a night on a boat that has dinner and dancing and just floats for three hours through the harbor. I won these through raffles for local fishing tournaments. I never really enter contests, so I guess to win I have to enter. Also, I do not waste my money on the lottery.

I won the race to the top of this place and I'm currently winning my game of tag.  Not to mention who stole the cheese - yeah, I'm a big winner!

I "won" a weeks free membership to a gym once.  I think everyone who put their name in that box won.  It was just a chance for the gym to hound you every other day about joining and how fat you are so you need to join.  I only went in there once and hated it.  The "trainers" didn't even pay attention to what you were doing, and the gym wasn't coed.  Men could go one day and women the next.

Ah! Radio contests are my specialty, I am the reason for two of the radio stations in our city going to the "You can only win once a month rule".


I have won several concert tickets.


CD's and tapes.


In a five year stretch of being caller #7 for the missing lyric contest on one of our local radio stations, I added up the estimated cost of free pizza, chicken and lottery tickets with a total of $800.00 in prizes.


Oh, and I also won an Elvis impersonator contest once...


My last job I won a video camera and a cook stove in a drawing.

Oh, I did win something from a radio station once.  I've never won the tickets I've really wanted, but I did win tickets to a local minor league baseball game once.  The question was what food appeared on menus the most throughout the US.  After a couple people incorrectly guessed potatoes and pasta, and the DJ gave the hint that it was usually on children's menus, I guessed hot dogs.  I wanted the tickets to take a friend to the game, but he didn't end up getting home until the game was over halfway over and we didn't go.  I was really bummed.


One time, a radio station was having a contest for concert tickets where they would say your name and give you so many minutes to call.  One of my friends called me and said, "They just called your name!!"  So I called the radio station, but it wasn't my name, it was one letter off.  They gave me a CD instead.

   about 8 years ago i won $17,000 on the lottery , 1 an 1/2 years ago won $1000. on lottery , thats how I got my computer,   In 1st grade ,at the end of the year there was a drawing, I won the class pet !! it was a guinea pig !  his name  was  Chipper.

When I was 9 I drew a picture ofa dog for a contest and won free dog food. However, I didn't have a dog. So we gave it to my neighbor who had a dog.
I won concert tickets to a show at a local bar but later found out I had to work and I didn't get to use them. I couldn't even pass them off to friend. I had to pick them up at the door.
I won an NFL office pool. It was a 33 point pool. Everyone paid in each week and had a team. If they scored 33 points you won the pot. It rolled over for three or four weeks and I hit for something like $160.

We may have to bring that Bingo game back.

It was VERY successful in getting new members to sign up for the forum. That's why we had the explosion we did in January & February. I think we signed up something like 24 members in those two months alone.

Most of them disappeared eventually, but a few stuck around.

You of course realize that as an intern for the station you're not allowed to accept gifts, so while you can still hold the contest, the um, let's call them donations, would have to go to the station.
