I'm sad, I'm not going to get to hear the final sign-off today. The boy got into the finals in a school speech contest and I need to be at school at 1:30 for that.
I'm looking forward to hearing from JR about the Huey Lewis concert. I bet he had a great time.
Today performs the biologically impossible for the most part. Its layoff eve at the office. Its FFR's final day on the air. AND the cellophane fringed toothpick thru the top of this crap burger is the news I got upon arriving at Camp Unhappy today... my friend Jack "the joke guy" Johnson was taken to the hospital by ambulance this morning, shortly after he arrived at work. Not sure if it is a heart thing or possibly a stroke. I'm very worried.
The only bright spot I see in this day is that it is my beautiful little granddaugher Marley's first birthday.

Yes, she is one already! Hard to believe, but she is already walking, starting to talk, and has 2 teeth.
Thanks for the positive thoughts for Jack. He's an older guy, so I'm very concerned. This day is already off in my mind since he hasn't been around with the first of his many daily jokes. Usually he gets around to my desk before my computer has booted up.

My boss walked in while JR was talking and said, "What's this, the radio?" (Sometimes when something big's happening, I'll stream TV. I did that for the opening ceremony of the Olympics.)
I said, "Yeah, it's Freeze Frame Radio's last day."
She said, "Really? What happened?"
I told her that there just wasn't enough listeners. But I was surprised that she remembered that this is the station I listen to, and was disappointed to hear it was ending. Even though she doesn't listen from her computer, I think she hears enough of my music from across the hall.
