Give it time - for both things. You never know. Actually, I think Star has been missing for some of this afternoon. But then again, I have been back and forth.

Where there is drinking there could be wrestling. I prefer to mess around with the minds of the opposite sex. Men just never know what to do when a women is beating them in some sort of sports related activity.
Just wanted to give you something to think about on your afternoon drive.

I agree with you fuzz on that one. All I can say about today is that I lost respect for someone that I thought was a 'friend.' I do not feel like mincing words, I was raised better. I use this forum for an escape from reality- my reality being that I have a 2 year old, two 13 year olds, (one who is walking on the wild side!) a mother in the hospital who is paralyzed and stuck in some red tape hell, a father recovering from heart surgery and a kidney transplant, a job that stresses me out during the school year and gives me no breaks and no promised raise, a best friend who just found out she has breast cancer, a church that always seems to need me for something and a husband who is less than attentive. So I believe that I have a life, sometimes I just need a break! Hence FFR. If I offend anyone I do not mean to. But my feelings were hurt, but I have considered the source and have moved on!
Good for you Ruby. And I'm glad the station can help you get some enjoyment in your life.
I'm quite certain that Star never intended to offend a couple forum members, but things come across differently in print than they do in person.
This reminds me of an event in my life that really hurt me about 15 years ago. I was about 22 and had three friends at a company I worked at, all about my age. We had all befriended an older guy that seemed really cool. He was lower level management, probably in his 40's, and we all sort of looked up to him and admired the fact that he was a bit goofy, seemed more like us than most 40 year olds.
Well, we used to go out to the local Ground Round for "Big Beers", which was a huge mug of beer the bar offered for like a buck.
Anyway, DAVE, the older guy, had been let go from the company a week earlier and it was under somewhat mysterious circumstances.
We were disappointed about it, and he suggested we all get together for the big beers one night.
Well, he was late getting there, but when he did he one by one tore us each apart. It was a completely unprovoked attack and speaking for myself I can tell you that my self-image was not prepared for it. The worst part was he started to share (and I believe greatly exaggerate) things that the rest of us had at one point or another said to him about each other, which had the end result of turning us all on one another.
We asked what his problem was and he replied "I'm sick of hanging out with a bunch of pus*ies" and walked out.
He made the rounds on the phone the next day, saying "Hey man, I was just in a weird place last night, we're all still tight right?" and we never heard from him again.
I would never let someone do that to me again, but I have to say that to this day I am bothered by the events of that night.
Todays events really made me think of that again. Perhaps because the surprise attack, while not directed at me, really did seem to come out of nowhere.
BUT, we all know Star, we know she's a bit up front, but we also know she's a decent person. I'm holding out hope that this isn't going to end as badly as my situation did with my friend Dave.
I was surprised by Stars actions yesterday but in all honesty I don't think she meant it at all, I really hope not anyway, I hope it was just her sense of humor going a little wrong, I have always watched myself when typing things because I sometimes write things as a joke and then when you read it back it just sounds totally wrong written down, so I start again, anyway lets hope things just settle down today, I think we all need a group hug!
Ultimo and JR are right - my comment was made off the cuff. Kind of like a teenager would say "whatever" or something. I don't know. I didn't mean for it to be so hurtful. I guess I just said the wrong thing. Please accept this.
You know, of all those goofy prescription ads, I have yet to see one for Footinmouth disease. Now there is one that I need to ask my doctor about! Unfortunately it is so easy to get rolling with the banter that you type faster than you think. Been there, done that, have the membership mug.
What say we all just watch ourselves today and reserve our acid posts for something truly worthy.
