We didn't last the whole weekend camping, it was too cold.
Now, all we want to do is sleep. Saturday we slept for 13 hours straight. I went to bed on time last night, after fighting the urge to nap all day, but this morning I hit the snooze button countless number of times before I just turned the alarm off. I ended up getting up 10 minutes before I was supposed to be at work. And guess what I want to do right now.
I worked on the new shed most of my available time this weekend. I got four walls up and covered with sheathing.
In the process of building the biggest wall for the front, I was moving it and as I let it down, it caught on something (an anchor bolt, I think) which left it sitting a few inches off the concrete. Just as I let go, it slipped off what it was sitting on and fell those few inches only to be cushioned by my finger. I almost cursed because it hurt so bad. Then the real pain hit and I almost cried. My fingernail is totally black, the bottom side is covered with blood blisters, and it's quite swollen. It's still very tender, but it quit throbbing and I can type with it now.
The next step is the main section of roof, but I still have to figure out exactly how I'm going to do that and what I'll need.
Yowza! Makes me cringe just thinking about the pain, Web . Did you do the walking in circles thing while you squeezed your finger just to keep from crying (or cursing)? Hope it feels better soon!
Looks like we're in for some crazy weather this evening. Weatherman is talking wind, thunderstorms, hail and tornados. And... we have a chance of rain everyday this week; but we need it.
Let's get this Monday behind us...

You should fear anything that can bleed for seven days without dying... (as told to Mr. DS on 3-12-10)
Good day, all! Its a rainy, nasty one here in KC. Presently 48*. They claim it will get up to 60*... maybe. Later this afternoon and evening we are supposed to be in for some really wicked weather. I believe it is supposed to extend all the way down into DS's area, but we are potentially in for some tornados later. What a fun way to start the week... NOT!! Most of this morning has been spent trying to reacquire access to all of the systems I used to do my old job since I will be getting that back pretty soon. Fun as always.
Anyhoo... had a nice Mother's Day with Anna and the kids at the zoo. Visited my mom for a bit after that. She didn't have such a great day. Had to bail my nephew out of jail. That kid just can't keep himself out of trouble.
Web... sorry to hear about the finger. Sounds excruciating. Good man for not cussing up a blue streak... if it were me, I'd have invented a whole new set of profanities.
Fuzzy... stay warm. I'd like to say your weather will improve soon, but I don't like to lie.
DS... theme song of the evening: Ridin' The Storm Out!
Mz... sorry to hear your camping trip got cut short.
Hope everyone is having as pleasant a Monday as possible.

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
Had a crazy weekend....Left Orlando at 6 am on Friday morning to drive to New Orleans to pick my son up from Tulane. (Yeah, his first year is aready over!). It's a 10 hour drive. Met up with my son and then packed my SUV with the junk from his dorm room. Checked into my hotel, got an hour of rest..then had dinner with him at 8. Bed after that then went back to get him and the last few things from his room...got on the road at 8 am...and back home Saturday evening by 7 pm. Lets recap......20 hours of driving, 1400+ miles, 37 hours. Needless to say I was wiped out when I got home....but it's nice to have him back for the summer...and yes he's still has Honors status....3.6+ GPA (waiting for the final, final grades) for his Freshman year...not bad!
