I see the infamous Jon Astley coming up on the playlist. You know what that is ok, because I get to request too and know that some hate the songs I request. This is the great thing about FFR. It is a puzzle that has all its diverse pieces in the right place, and better yet has room to grow.
wef- that clunk you just heard was my head hitting the desk, sigh, try to slip a little humor in... O WAIT my bad , forgot to put the big grins on my posts
I'm sick of the Chaka Kahn song, but I live with it, because I know CP requested it, and I can sympathize. Now that we're not hearing Jon Astley twice a day, every day, there's some sort of perverted memorabilia I feel when I hear those first few notes. I still don't like the song, I still don't want to hear the song, but I can live with it until we get bombarded with it again.
I can sympathize with the disgust of the song. However, as it plays now, next time you hear it, play especially close attention to the lyrics and not the music. As you know my wife and I are going thru a very rough time and these lyrics describe how I truly feel, but cannot verbalize just yet.
Star and Dylan hit closer to home than anyone, including myself realized.
Do me one favor. Really listen to the lyrics and though you may not want to, will receive an insight into the real cp that remains hidden.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't say I didn't like the Chaka Kahn song, I'm just a little sick of it. But again, since I know that it's your song, I can live with it.
And CP, music can be one of the best healers. When you may not be able to say how you feel, there's always a song that can do the talking for you. Have you ever made your wife a mixed tape or CD?
MZ, I re-read that last post of mine. I didn't say it the way I meant it, but I think you have an inkling what I needed to say. I have a problem putting my emotions into words. I appreciate your tolerance of the song.
Thanks again for everyone's tolerance of my eccentricities.
May I please extend one more eccentric trait in my defense of Cher. She is and Oscar, Emmy, Grammy winner and the ONLY artist to have a top ten hit in the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and now the 2000's.
That is talent--costuming aside is merely dressing.
For the record, I do like Cher. And, you request different songs from her all the time, and I'm not sick of her any.
No apologies necessary, CP. You have to hear the song because of what the words mean to you, and I can live with that. Now, why does our Jon Astley guy need to hear Jane?

What'd I do?
Cp - Were you talking about the Cher song meaning something to you or the Chaka Kahn one? Because the Cher ..Believe song has memories/meaning for me too.
