I walked to work this morning. I live about 4 blocks away from work, and if the street went all the way through, it would be on the same street. But it doesn't. So when I walk, I take a shortcut. I walk through the parking lot of a tiny little breakfast restuarant, take a path through the patch of trees separates the businesses on the street from where the train yard used to be, take a path through the overgrown weeds that used to be the train yard, and walk around a defunct warehouse that's next to the fence that surrounds the lot where the building I work in is located.
Today it looked like they're cleaning up the warehouse. They were weedwacking, the grass had been mowed, and the doors were open. So of course, I looked in when I went by. It's large and open but was mostly empty, with a couple small pieces of unknown machinery in one corner. On the opposite wall, with nothing around it, was a car with a cover over it. It had approximately this shape:
It's like something out of a movie. I feel like if I went in and took the cover off of the car, underneath I'd find a time machine or TARDIS or something.
It turns out that today is not Friday. I thought it was. Then I rudely told myself that it wasn't. I hate when that happens. It was a long drive into work and I really don't want to be here.
Work on.

It's another wet morning here, but I don't mind. I'd rather have it wet than too dry.
The boy had a GREAT day yesterday. He spent the day as a baseball camp. It was put on by Husker baseball players. He learned a lot. He won a wristband for having the biggest sweat ring around his hat :D. When I picked him up at the end, we got two Husker caps and he had all the Huskers sign it. He is so proud of that thing . . . I think he almost wanted to sleep in it.
Mrs Web is off to training today. This new bank doesn't really have a central HQ so she only has to go to the next closest branch which is only 30 miles away. That's much better than having to go all the way to Lincoln (180 miles) like with the old bank. The new local branch is getting their charter today. They go from "just" being a loan production office to a full service bank. She's feeling better about it all now, but still really nervous. This start up is kind of "flying by the seat of their pants" and she don't work well that way. She'll feel better once they get some structure and routine in place.
If it were up for a vote, I'd be good with making this Friday. Just found out that one of the trouble reports that was vexing my yesterday... mostly because I could not find a problem... is in fact not my problem. The guy who reported the problem finally called me directly and explained that he was trying to get a ticket opened with AT&T but is having no luck. His new ticket opening process doesn't work. Bummer... at least I can stop frantically searching my network and just try to help him get a phone number.

I know they are there. Unforetunately, they are not usually one of the bigger, badder schools in the division. Sometimes Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue can be tough.

True. The question is - are the guys ready to play in such a conference? I know there are a few tough teams in the Big 12, but they seem to be in the Big 12 South. The North seems a little weaker.
Well, if they come over, it'll be an interesting year.

In football, not so much. In Basketball, in the past IU was one of the schools to contend with. There was some hubbub about the coach a couple years ago about unethical recruiting practices and he was dismissed, but he was good and the players liked him, so all the players quit too. So the team's been struggling to rebuild since then.
There's not many things you can count on in this life. But now Web can count on his Huskers taking at least ONE loss a year (when they play the Badgers)
G'mornin' all. I woke up around 2 hours early today and I'm wide awake. Rather than fight it I figured I'd get to work on the station stuff and just catch 2 hours of "nap time" later tonight before work.
I'm thinking that one of those new Subway Orchard Chicken Salad Subs might hit the spot this afternoon. What do you think? COOL! I'm glad we agree! Let's go get one!
